Anyone catch Megyn Kelly last night? She led with the shot down airliner. Whem mentioning the 1983 Korean plane that was shot down, she stated "accidently shot down by the Russians."
Two things wrong -
One - the Reagan administration had the goods and played the recording at the UN. The Soviets knew it was a civilian aircraft and shot it down anyway. Nothing accidental about it.
Two - she can't even say Soviets. President Reagan did not say Russians - he said Soviets.
What is wrong with these people?

Speaking of the reagan speech, I LOVE how Reagan stuck it to eh soviets by saying their refusal to add in the frequency thing was to prevent their own pilots from defecting, LOL. Reagan knew how to drub rub it inthe commies faces! No wonder the left hate him so damned much.

I don’t always agree with her, but I like her for the most part.
Once in a great while I will watch Greta for a liyttle while. She is the only one that is even half way tolerable.
That was a function of the Soviet air defense command system: the pilots were trained to do what the ground controllers told them to. The ground controllers who couldnt see the plane didn’t believe that it was a civilian. The pilot(s) who could see it couldn’t disobey the instructions they rec’d from the controllers.
