Apparently, Sarah Palin still has some influence after all: Shortly after the former half-term Alaska Governor called for President Obamas impeachment, over two-thirds of Republicans said Obama should be impeached in a new poll. Thats an increase since a similar survey was taken in early 2013, wherein only half of Republicans supported removing Obama from office.

For now, a better approach would be to send a shot across the bow by calling for the impeachment of the most corrupt cabinet official in US history: Eric the Red Holder. Holder's criminal activity in Fast and Furious, the New Black voter suppression case, etc. constitutes one high crime after another, and the lying racist bastard has already been held in contempt of Congress. Impeaching Holder should be one of the first orders of business in a new Congress with a more robust GOP presence.
You do realize that it takes 67 votes in the senate for removal from office. If my numbers are right, that means the republicans have to win 22 additional seats.
I just want to find out whats happening in the White House—special prosicutor needed to learn the truth. I bet its really dirty too. Enough for three imprechments.
Agreed on that point, in concept anyways.
But then look at how the Clinton Admin managed to disrupt and undermne Ken Starr. In an effort that would be the basis for a Dem defense of the Obama Administration.
Impeachment wouldn’t work. Both political parties are too deeply entrenched in the government, and aren’t about ready to let one of their own get kicked out of the club. That would set a precedent that would put any politician on the spot if they decided to ignore the rule of law, and the powers to be just can’t have that, now can they?
About the only way to clean out the rat’s nest that is the federal government, short of armed rebellion, is to kick the legs out from under it.
Stop funding of the federal government, period. Ignore the regulations and edicts of unelected administrative federal beareaucrats. Take back your state from federal control. Strip the federal government of ALL authority, execpt for those as required by the constitution.
Starve the beast, before it decides to devour you.
BEFORE Benghazi. Obamacare. It may have passed without a single GOP vote... and they may have been swept into the majority primarily in opposition to Obamacare... but they have voted (even before the 2011 Congress was seated) to fund it with every continuing resolution since.
Obamacare may have been passed by the Dems but it has been implemented by the Boehner-led House.
I think they should after this November, once we regain the senate - If we don't do anything - we are just as complicit, forever worrying about a voting bloc we will never see....and if we are successful - we run against plugs Biden...their convention would be factionalized with Hillary and no suitable candidate comes forward
The polls are all wrong. Impeach Bill Clinton and America will positively respond to the GOP’s strong principled stand.
It would be educational and informational for US voters to see how their current reps vote on impeachment prior to an election.
Not true. His impeachment is guaranteed. What is not guaranteed is his removal from office.
Gore lost after the US House impeached Bill Clinton. Gore might have won, if the Republican base was not energized by the Impeachment process of Bill Clinton.
“If you won’t do the right thing because you are afraid of the press, then you might as well give up.”
On the other hand, others are fixated on doing the “right thing” even though it accomplishes nothing to advance conservative goals, and may turn out to be completely counterproductive.
“If my numbers are right, that means the republicans have to win 22 additional seats.”
Yep, and then there is this bit of info:
“There are 36 U.S. Senate seats up for election in 2014. Of those seats, 15 are currently held by Republicans and 21 are held by Democrats.”
So, even if we won EVERY SINGLE SEAT at play in 2014, we’d still be one vote short to convict (and that is if every Republican voted down the line to convict).
It was a waste of time and money.
And it resulted in the dems targeting my fine congressman Jim Rogan, resulting in him being replaced by Adam Shifty.
Unfortunately, they are not in the Senate.

We just wait for the inevitable disaster from all this to occur? Then what?
On the other hand, others are fixated on doing the right thing even though it accomplishes nothing to advance conservative goals, and may turn out to be completely counterproductive.
As stated you think the press will make doing the right thing counterproductive.
I think surrendering to the press doesn't work, witness the last 16 years of failure.
Biden wont win because he has to beat Hillary first.
“As stated you think the press will make doing the right thing counterproductive.”
Nope, I didn’t say anything about the press. I just said it may turn out to be counterproductive. There’s a potentially large downside here, and no real upside. A sucker’s bet.
You talk about surrender, but that isn’t the only alternative to pursuing a futile impeachment battle that we already know we are going to lose. We could instead choose another battle to fight that we actually have a possibility of winning. I would rather have a real victory than a Pyrrhic one, any day of the week.
