1. Liberals just want to take away guns, just like Hitler: If I had five bucks for every time Ive witnessed Godwins Law in action, Id be sitting on the front porch of my vacation home in the Bahamas, looking at my 55′ sportfisher tied up to the dock. Almost every gun nut you deal with will inevitably mention Hitler, because gun nuts have been conditioned by the NRA to point to Nazi Germany as proof that the march to fascism and tyranny involves stricter regulation of guns. Except, theres this one little fact: In 1938, under Nazi rule, gun laws became significantly more relaxed. Rifle and shotgun possession were deregulated, and gun access for hunters, Nazi Party members, and government officials was expanded. The legal age to own a gun was lowered. Jews, however, were prohibited from owning firearms and other dangerous weapons. (Source) The fact remains that very few people in America want outright gun confiscation, despite what all the NRA-funded propaganda and Alex Jones-styled conspiracy stories say. Sure, you have some crazy lefties who think all of humanity can get along by enlightenment and enough bong hits around a campfire, but those are a minority.

The comments won’t change your life. Just think of the stupidest things you can say, mix in a little “I want everyone to be slaves” and you’ve got it.
OK lol
What I get out of his rant is that our gun control nuts are worse than Nazis.
“Forward Progress”
Utopian agitprop.
” Jews, however, were prohibited from owning firearms and other dangerous weapons. “
never let the little details get in the way of the Left Wing meme that Hitler “relaxed” gun control laws.
“some sort of licensing requirements for military grade weapons”
Discredited for using the non-sequitur, ‘military grade’.
This statement "...not a tricked-out assault rifle with a 30 or 100 round clip."
Says it all.
Progressive is doublespeak for regressive
So Manny Schewitz thinks being stripped of all means of self-defense in an anti-Semitic hell while “gun access for Nazi Party members and government officials was expanded” worked out well for Jews?
This has to be satire in very poor taste. No one could be stupid or evil enough to argue this seriously.
In one of my posts, I link to an article written just 2 weeks ago about “how easy it was for (him) to buy this rifle at a gun show”
He’s only had the rifle for a few months... and he used a gunshow to get it. Probably because he heard “... how easy it was” and he is actually flagged to not get one.
Interesting mix of accurate and inaccurate information and irrelevancies.
What difference does it make that a .22 is rimfire while a 5.56 is centerfire? Makes no difference whatsoever to ballistic performance. You could make a much more powerful round using rimfire, and they were made in the past. Would seem the roughly double mass of the bullet and greatly increased propellant and therefore velocity of the 5.56 is a good bit more relevant.
The 5.56 is certainly capable of lethality at 600 meters, it’s just that a hit on anything you’re aiming for at that range isn’t likely.
The “more guns equals less crime” meme is misused by both sides of the debate. It all depends on who has the guns. More guns in the hands of criminals and thugs means more crime. More guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens less. More guns in the hands of both probably means less crime overall. But guns in and of themselves cause neither an increase nor a reduction of crime.
The problem with this argument is that it implies Jews, and by implication other Germans, were well-armed prior to their weaponry being taken away by the Nazis.
The actual fact is that privately-owned firearms were thin on the ground in Germany long before the Nazis came to power.
The scary part is not that the Nazis immediately passes laws to disarm their opponents. It's that they used the registration laws and records passed by their democratic predecessors to do so.
Sure you did, punk.
4) Never heard anyone say this to defend gun rights. Straw man.
3) Concealed carry has become more liberalized since the 1990’s, with most states now being “shall issue”. At the same time, murders have decreased substantially.
2) If the problem with Chicago was guns, then why don’t those same guns cause havoc in the places where they come from?
1) Sounds like to me that Hitler took guns away from everyone but the Jews. Much like modern politicians throw up barriers to minority ownership of firearms. Wonder why he did that? Oh wait...history tells us why.
One thing is for certain...no citizen could own a Sturmgewehr, even semi automatic only. Limiting gun ownership to hunting is still gun control, so the comparision stands.
“The problem with this argument is that it implies Jews, and by implication other Germans, were well-armed prior to their weaponry being taken away by the Nazis.”
What I wrote implies no such thing, although I would agree that German Jews were probably never well-armed. Some German Jews doubtless possessed some means of self-defense prior to systematic confiscation, and little or none thereafter. The Nazis’ purpose was at least threefold. They wanted to render their victims helpless; they wanted to fuel popular hysteria that the Jews were somehow dangerous and needed to be neutralized; and they wished to have a pretext for searches, arrests, persecution, and expropriation of their victims. Things Lois Lerner-types could really get into today.
Your final statement is a compelling argument that “Manny Schewitz” and his ilk should answer (that name sounds so much like a wine; is he punking us to push our buttons?).
As a side issue, statistics on “privately owned” firearms in interwar Germany seem unlikely to capture the reality of “firearms on the ground”, considering widespread access to military weapons by Freicorps, reservists, SA, various “marching units”, workers’ and communist cells, etc. I suspect the latter figured large in the Nazi’s fantasies about armed Jews.

As much as I would like to see you-know-who rendered forever speechless, nobody is going to destroy her in one sentence. This is little more than reactionary clickbait with a couple of sentences wrapped around an embedded YouTube video in order to collect ad revenue.

I must take this opportunity to address you - as well as everyone on FR. Everyone within ear shot to my address :
Gun control has never been about safety. The actions of those in charge (Not the people that the media thinks) have never been to improve our prosperity. For the last 100 years you have felt as though your freedoms have been slipping away and been replaced with something _else_.
Gun control is about control. It’s about subjugation. The US isn’t the only one in the scope. The whole planet is. The US has presented unique challenges when it comes to subjugation. We have a recent memory of subjugation, a recent memory of fighting tyrants on a global scale, and an independent freedom and god-given right to arm ourselves against any tyrant or thug, regardless of how big they are.
That is the fact.
Also in the realm of facts is that our economy is collapsed. Already. It’s not “going to collapse”. It already has. But you see, with a population such as the US has, when we learn who is at the helm of that collapse we will be poised to do something about it.
And the economic collapse (Or resource-based economy... “slavery”) will involve removing your kids from your house and re-educating them to be more subservient. When that happens it is important that “you” be disarmed and compliant.
Do not register, do not comply and and under no circumstances let these tyrants know that you exist. Stay quiet, stay vigilant and resist. Your worst nightmares are only the surface of what is planned.
