Heroes and zeroes and Zots
Posted on 07/12/2014 7:49:29 PM PDT by burgereater
The heroes and zeroes of the presidential elections I've voted in.
Heroes: Reagan, Bush Sr, Dole, Bush Jr, McCain, Romney
Zeroes: Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama
The pattern is obvious! Hoping and praying that it goes republican in 2016. I've not just voted for but campaigned for every hero on the entire list!
TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: elections; obama; ozone; sniff; uniparty; zot

Reagan was the best president in my lifetime. I too wish we could have another Reagan every time.

Reagan is the biggest hero but they are all heroes for fighting against the democrats.

This is not thread-worthy.

If you were serious, and had been paying attention, you would have known that the GOP is backing away from being a Pro-life, pro-family party and has never been a pro-limited government party except for during Reagan's time.
Furthermore, you would have known that the GOP is not against homosexualism or defending our borders either.
As proof, I offer you one of your "heroes", Mitt Romney. 1. After he had gained the nomination, Mitt Romney came out in support of Abortion in the cases of Rape, Incest, Life, AND HEALTH of the mother on August 27th, 2012.
2.Mitt Romney also supported Homos in the military, Homos in the Boy Scouts, and Homo Adoption.
3. Mitt Romney didn't/doesn't even know what the term limited-government means judging by his RomneyCare, a Big Government takeover that is nothing but Socialized Medicine.
4. Mitt Romney just came out in support of Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
McCain, Dole, and Bush Sr. were just as bad on the issues.
Wake-up newbie!

How is this not a GOP site?

Im not kidding. Im totally with the GOP! Im totally against the democrats!
Then you are totally for Amnesty and Open Borders, you are totally for not fighting for conservative principles, you must also be for the moderate to liberal Thad Cochran and the dirty tricks he just employed to win over a conservative.

"In a general election its R vs D and I will take the R every time! There is no comparison." Then you're part of the problem.
I think you should have spent more time reading here before you decided to sign up and post a vanity, because you don't have a firm grasp on what the site is about.
The majority of the GOP is filled with statists who support leftwing policies such as immigration reform. Many of them condone queer marriage. Why would you vote for any of that just because the letter after the name isn't a D? Might as well be.

"Reagan is the biggest hero but they are all heroes for fighting against the democrats." How is supporting Democratic principles such as immigration reform "fighting against the Democrats?"

This absolutely is thread worthy after suffering through the Obama debacle. I will spend many hours campaigning in 2016 to make absolutely sure the GOP takes back the White House!

"This absolutely is thread worthy after suffering through the Obama debacle" I've been here for three years and haven't posted a vanity yet. I have no plans to do so.
You might be really impressed with what you have to say, but you could have posted in an ongoing thread...after familiarizing yourself with FR's opinion on vanities.

I did not vote for Romney in the primary but when it became apparent that he’d win the primary I vigorously campaigned for him against Obama.
I too have quibbles about Romney but look at his opponent! Obama. There is no comparison.
The GOP is far better than the democrats on every single issue and I will continue to support the GOP.

I wish we could have a Reagan every time but we haven’t been quite so fortunate. I did not vote for McCain or Romney in the primaries but they won anyway. They are no Reagan but compare them to Obama! Look what Obama has done to our nation. It isn’t pretty. It’s downright ugly. There is absolutely no way McCain or Romney or any GOP member could possibly be as bad as Obama. No way!
I vote for the best candidate available. I like Ted Cruz in 2016 and he gets my vote if he runs!

Again. Compare them to the alternative. Obama.
What if we end up with Christie vs Hillary in 2016? You can bet I will vigorously campaign for Christie in the general. I’d prefer Ted Cruz of course but we might or might not get Ted Cruz.

So what if I posted a vanity?
I’ve lived through the Obama presidency and I don’t ever want to see anything like it again! The GOP has to take back the White House!

You are from Virginia. Obama won Virginia in both 2008 and 2012. What are you going to do to prevent a democrat from winning Virginia in 2016?

"What if we end up with Christie vs Hillary in 2016? You can bet I will vigorously campaign for Christie in the general. Id prefer Ted Cruz of course but we might or might not get Ted Cruz." So you'll campaign for a gun-grabbing, Muslim and queer loving Democrat (Christie). See, that's bad.
The fact that you prefer Cruz tells me there might be some hope. I'd suggest some deep reflection on the contrast between his positions and the rest of the GOP.

"You are from Virginia. Obama won Virginia in both 2008 and 2012. What are you going to do to prevent a democrat from winning Virginia in 2016?" Refrain from voting for one just because there's an "R" after the name.
