Trigger Warning: An unseasonable blast of cold air reminiscent of last winter's infamous Polar Vortex is headed our way next week. Tropical Storm Neoguri, off the coast of Japan, has initiated a chain reaction in weather patterns which, according to Weather Underground, will cause a ripple effect in the jet stream over western North America, resulting in a phenomenon "similar to the nasty 'Polar Vortex' pattern that set up during the winter of 2014." Guess we're still not done slurping up winter's blood from that snowman's skull. Fine, pass it over.

Does this mean that it will be too cold for Joe Buck to call the All-Star game? fingers crossed!
So this summer polar vortex is going to bring unseasonably cool weather to the country. My hunch is that the envirowackos will blame it on global warming.
Gosh, instead of the 90’s and 100+ this year, only the 70’s?
Say it ain’t so! :-P
What kind of a psychopath would write that?
I’m currently on a cool off break from mowing my yard here in the southern Puget Sound area - it’s in the high 80’s right now and supposed to be over 90 the next three days plus. Bring on the polar vortex!
You lucked out — will be 107-9 here by Sunday.
Afraid to say that the PV will probably miss the Pacific Northwest. All the hot temps are there to stay.
Relax, he’s a Calvin & Hobbes fan.
You can click the skull link in the linked article to find out who wrote that. I did not bother to explore the reference further.
This will wreak havoc on the Canadian orange crop.
Why yes, of course. You see the temperature in the hemisphere is warming and there is not enough contrast in temperature between the northern hemisphere and the tropics to cause the circumfrential currents in the oceans to move warm water to colder areas and vice versa.
What does this mean?
We are all gonna die!
This is how that Swazie guy explained it in the day after so it must be true.
I live in southern BC just 100 miles north of the border with Idaho. We’ve got clear skies and 90+ afternoons these days and newt week we’ll be hitting 100!
“No Polar Vortex for you!”
Lol.
I am now in Florida. Couldn’t care less about the polar vortex now. ;)
I guess you’re more of a mind to keep an eye peeled for a Tropical Vortex, otherwise known as a hurricane. ;^)
Wow, 100,in British Columbia??? Keep cool!!

This whole ‘polar vortex’ thing is just getting silly, and on a par with ‘global warming’.
These ‘polar vortices’ are pretty much a constant round the globe.
Here, see for yourself.
