Well, ol’ Gutless John might start by not just tearing into the Dear Leader, but by tearing into the pack of lickspittles protecting him. He might bother to point out the lies and ever-changing positions that have been trotted out, and received with adoration and slobbering devotion by the worthless media sycophants crowding the room with him. He might even think to have his own cameras and recording persons in there so that he can put out what was said unedited and un-arranged, so that the Media Lickspittles can’t edit and arrange his words in an unflattering manner.

Further, he might announce separate Committees with subpoena power to investigate the IRS, Fast & Furious, and the current Border Scandal, and further, announce that the House will be imprisoning Lois Lerner and beginning impeachment proceedings on John Koskinen for Obstruction of Congress.

In short, he might start to fight. Up to now, he’s been either doing nothing or actually aiding the Dear Leader. Leadership consists of LEADING, and so far, the Speaker is flaccid and listless. The reason Gutless John is not regarded well is that he is hated by the rats simply for breathing (as they hate any Republican), and reviled by his own base as a worthless surrender monkey. Except, that is, when fighting said base over things like Amnesty...

At least by fighting he might gain some small amount of respect by someone. The rats will not hate him more, as it is not possible, and he might win over his base. But, alas, he isn’t known as Gutless John for nothing...

I agree that he’s not doing a great job, but I think one of the problems is not malevolence on the side of people like Boehner, but the same thing that brought down GWB: They believed that the Dems were playing by the rules.

Bush realized by the end of his term that they weren’t, but it was too late. Once Obama got elected, the establishment GOP was terrified of him because, after all, he was part-black and therefore the press would call them racists if they opposed him.

And they’re still scared because they are afraid of being on the end of a press/Dem hate fest. That’s just how they are. A lot of them have been in office for way too long and come from a different political generation.

We need more brave, bold people to come in and stir things up, but we seem to be incapable of electing any. Not only because of obvious fraud like Cochran (and I still hope McDaniel prosecutes him and overturns the election), but because there is so much GOP infighting that we can never get behind a candidate.

In the meantime, though, I’ll take anything I can get. Criticize Boehner when he’s wrong or weak, but support him when he’s right. Think carrot and stick. I can tell you, as a horse owner, that no equine has ever moved only for the stick. They’ll drop in their tracks first. But give them a bit of praise and a sugar lump (with a veiled threat to swat them otherwise, and they’re yours.
