I kept Comcast when they bought out Warner in our area years ago. Have paid $40.12 a month for cable internet ever since that time. Also dropped AT&T for business land line and went with Vonage for $10.00 a month two years ago. Vonage also includes efax number with no additional cost. Most of our calls are long distance so saves us lots of money and works well thus far.
That's an idea. Thanks.
Further research shows that the lowest price for just Comcast (up to) 25mbps Internet is $40 month (+ taxes and fees), for the first 12 months, then 55 after 24 months, then up to $67. And is restricted to one single outlet! Even Comcast Economy Plus (3mbps) is $40 month, and 6mbps is 50.
Add to that the cost of Vonage at $24.99/mo and even the 12 mo special is higher than Verizon Verizon Freedom Essentials and "High Speed Internet Enhanced" at 63.00, though the speed likely would be higher with Comcast .
Verizon High Speed Internet Enhanced is $30 by itself, but home phone service is required, the cheapest being $ 12.70 /month, but which cost $.016 per minute even for local calls, plus long distance charges. Add Vonage to that for actual phone use and its 68.00 a month combined, plus taxes.
Magic Jack would be the cheapest phone at $120 for 5 Years ($2 a month), plus portage fees if you want to keep your old number. So for 45.00 with Verizon you could get nationwide/Canada calling plus up to 15mbps Internet, or around 55 for Comcast. But i see MJ issues .
