The 70's had the best music of any decade. All one has to do is listen to the Dazed and Confused soundtrack for proof.
I'd say the 80's had better spring breaks though!

I bet the author of the article converted the color photos just to be artsy.

A Fort Lauderdale police officer yells at college students after disobeying his order to not ride bikes in the middle of A1A, March 2, 1985, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Robert Mayer/SF Sun Sentinel/Polaris)Today, they'd have gotten tazed, beaten and arrested.

I feel like such a chump. All those spring breaks I had a job and paid taxes.
Stupidly I still work spring breaks and pay taxes. I’ve never received a single thank you card from a welfare dependent.

I beg to disagree there. I’ll always be an ‘80s music fan.
As for the fashion, it was better than a lot of what passes for style today. We females who were in our 20s back then didn’t look like slobs with masculinized short hair, flip flops, and loads of tattoos. We wore short skirts, figure-flattering clothing, and spike heels. We looked like females, and we loved it.

The 80’s was a foolish attempt to replace guitars with keyboards/synthesizers and call it Rock.

I like color photos better. It brings out the flag....

The main difference was people were nostalgic for the 50’s and 60’s then.

music was way better in the 80s than that 70s crap that passed for music. I totally agree. I look at the 70's as the Dark Ages of music and the 80's as the Renaissance.

Many of whom actually buy superhero under wear, spend all day playing video games, argue over comic book characters Lifeless, spiritless, soulless. We all seen too many kids who are dead in the eyes.
They are told from early on that America is hell on earth and eventually they come to make it so, for themselves and often others.
To: AlaskaErik
people who like 70s music like it because the only way it can possibly sound any good at all is you’re high on pot or acid. I was a little kid then and just about all 70s music actually made me afraid/uncomfortable when I heard it. Not church music, not 50s music, not classical music. I played classical music.
later 60s/70s music was drug/hippie music. 80s music was characterized largely by being upbeat, happy, optimistic music. One genre however I don’t like was metal/satanic.

Hadn’t thought of that. Certainly more true then than now.

Speaking of which, have you seen the Delta ‘80s “get ready for your flight” video? Was your hair like the pair of girls in that? You’ll know the two I mean, and it’s a funny video. I should have thought to add this earlier.

I think they’re converted color pics, which is a big fail. Still cool to see the scenes, but they’re neither as sharp as a good B&W nor as interesting as color.
