The Habit Burger and In-N-Out lead the pack. Chick-fil-A also has lots to squawk about. Turns out nobodys loving it.
The standard McDonalds hamburger the one that claims to satisfy billions and billions finished dead last in a new Consumer Reports taste test.
The Hamburglars favorite meal earned a score of just 5.8 out of 10 from the magazines readers, putting it far behind West Coast chains The Habit Burger Grill and In-N-Out Burger, which scored 8.1 out of 10 and 8 out of 10, respectively.
The top fast food burger available locally was Five Guys Burgers and Fries, which got a 7.9 score from the 32,405 readers surveyed by the magazine.
McDonalds said in a statement that its proud to serve 27 million customers a day but the chain has suffered declining sales for six consecutive months. And Consumer Reports thinks it knows why.
More and more, food quality - not just low price - is emerging as a deciding-factor for many Americans when choosing where to spend their dining dollars, said Tod Marks, senior projects editor for the magazine.
By quality, Marks said his readers mean the foods flavor and fresh-tasting character.
Even Micky Ds fans couldnt really defend their daily bread (and frozen patty).
The food (quality) depends on what McDonalds location youre at, said Aravid Murali, an 18-year-old Brooklynite who dines with Mayor McCheese once a month.
Meanwhile, New Yorkers are waiting in line for the burger at Five Guys, despite a meal that costs several dollars more.
I like that you can see them cooking at Five Guys as opposed to McDonalds, said Sean Daniels, 26, of Crown Heights.
McDonalds did get a measure of revenge its McGriddle breakfast sandwich beat Taco Bells Waffle Taco in a mouth-to-mouth test.
Still hungry for more? Breakfast and burgers werent the only thing on Consumer Reports menu. Midwest-based Portillos Hot Dogs was the best tasting fast-food chain with a score of 8.5 out of 10. And Chick-fil-As signature poultry sandwich earned a score of 8.
All fast food burgers are crap ... especially McDonalds.
I love White Castle. Used to live near a couple. I ate one White Castle lunch in the last year. But in my younger days, it was usually late at night, and with friends.
I’ve seen some sorry looking people at White Castle at midnight, and sometimes they were I.
Here they sell double cheeseburgers for about $1.30. Two of them, eaten on the go, are not bad for under $3.
We have several Portillo’s within a reasonable distance as well as a Five Guys. Both are closer than the nearest McDonald’s.
The fries haven’t been as good since they quit using lard.
Where did you see this? Not that I'm doubting it. Would be typical middle finger behavior toward traditional America by leftists.
No, you want to cure constipation you go to taco bell.
I was just trying to think of a way to describe the last McD’s cheeseburger I had.
Someone said “grainy” and I think that is appropriate. I think if you took an old worn out football, cut a chunk of it off and ground it up, then mixed it with some Elmers glue to keep it together, then put in on a 10 day old bun with the cheapest bit of cheese product, that pretty much reminds me of how it tasted.
A guy working at my local Taco Bell doens’t seem to be a gang-banger, but he’s got a grotesque tattoo on his neck, and did something really freaky with his earlobes, with some wide piercings.
Having him at the register taking my order, the sight of him made me totally and completely lost my appetite. Haven’t been back to the place since, and I’m sure I won’t for a long, long time, if ever.
The type of people I see nowadays working at these fast-food joints, taking orders and making meals, just look so nasty and so putrid. I’ve really all but stopped going to any of them, save for Chic-Fil-A.
I got my first in 1951 as a young man and liked them. Wendy’s claim theirs are REAL beef. Taste better!!!
I bet moochelles are worse.
666, LOL!!!
Discovered what was missing from In-N-Out Burgers the other day; Wolf’s Chili. Man that was good.
"The top fast food burger available locally was Five Guys Burgers and Fries, which got a 7.9 score from the 32,405 readers surveyed by the magazine."
I don't disagree about the McDonalds, and they didn't do too bad because they ranked Five Guys and In-N-Out in the top three. But Habit?
We have all three of those here and I'm a burger gourmet, if I do say so myself. Habit is not nearly the best. Five Guys and In-N-Out are the best large chains. Habit beef patties can't compare, and they put shredded lettuce on their burgers, a no-no.
Probably the end of BK though, this is the final nail for the tasteless semi-frozen disgusting garbage they call "Hamburger" in the first place.
This is what happens when queers take over upper management.
Clue to the wise.
Sell!!
Yep. Anything that bad has to be good. I once amazed (and disgusted) my family by snarfing down a dozen of them on a road trip.
Could have used a couple more ...
McDonald’s isn’t bad. Better than Burger King and Jack In the Box and Wendy’s. Jack In the Box is crap, all of it.
