Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Morning,TC.
Trust all well in the World.
Another busy Saturday ahead.
‘See’ you a bit later. :)
Afternoon, Moose! Have a good day. So far it’s just me and the catz here, but I just turned the lights on for the dragons, and Patrick usually turns up by 7:00.
Today is neighborhood garage sale day. When I got up this morning, I put my rocking chair from the dining room out on the curb with a sign that said “Free.” It was gone before 7:00 a.m.
If the person who picked it up wants to spend some time with wood filler and a few cents on screws and springs, he’ll have a working chair. We could have done it, but a couple of days of teenagers would have it broken again.
This gives us more room for the dinner table, which I’ve moved toward the center of the room. It will be harder for Bill and Tom to plug in their laptops, which may remind them that laptops aren’t welcome at the dinner table.
Unnngghhhh....
It’s hard to breathe this morning, and I don’t know if it’s the ribs or the lungs. I just took some Ibuprofen and will wait till it has time to work, then decide if I need a breathing treatment or not. Which isn’t going to hurt me, even if I don’t need it.
I really need to get busy and clean up this place. It seems every time I have plans to do that, something happens and it doesn’t get done. Still, I will see what I can get done, even if it isn’t much.
Shawn didn’t do a very good job, Thursday. He seemed depressed when he got here and couldn’t seem to focus on his work. For now, I’ll overlook it, as the last time he was here, he did an excellent job.
I’m still weeding things out for another trip to the thrift store, but it won’t be a very big load. I just need to get rid of THINGS! :o]
Since that is<--- a Morning Kitteh order, I agree, why not comply?
Morning T-c! Morning Everyone! A Special Wished Good Morning and day wished for Face!
Gosh, I’m sorry about Shawn! Jake is upset about the absence of the chair. He tore up a couple of pages in the sunroom, and then curled up on top of the printer! It looks like Bill got a longer cord, because he can still plug in his laptop. Drat.
I’m about to leave for choir practice, and I need to find all the people who are going to the Eagle project and get them on the road.
Morning, NtI. I hope your day is nothing short of spectacular!
Thank you ... please help with my avoiding spectacular ... too many variables.
Tell Bill the need for a longer cord was a hint...computers aren’t wanted at the table. Ever.
Of course, with his mindset, that will be like talking to a stone. “Who? You don’t mean ME, do you? Your Golden Son?”
Have fun at choir practice!
Ever heard the song, On the Outside Looking In? Most days think is best course of action but then you know me and is difficult to find a cure for being on the outside looking in.
