I watched my old boss find the end of a pipe buried in gravel using two bent brazing rods. I was dumbfounded too, there is no way he could have known where it was, just that it was there somewhere. He made a couple of passes back and fourth and said ‘dig here’ sure as H*ll there it was about 2 feet down. This was in a large construction lay down yard.

Coat hangers work for me too.

Anyone know the “best” wire material for this to work?
