The recording said Tammy Wynette is Dead?
That’s a seriously beautiful song. She’s so talented.
That’s really good!
Dolly is actually very talented. And...I heard her interviewed a couple of years ago. She is very sharp.
I can’t say I’m a huge Dolly fan but I will give credit where it is due.
Definitely her best song. I like the original speed - it seems to convey the desperation of song.
she could be Faith Hills bio mom in that pic...
Coate?
If it were not for Dolly’s other attributes she would not be as famous as she is. Her voice is only so-so! And Porter should share in her success!
Love, love, love Dolly. Thanks for posting.
Used to watch Dolly on the old Porter Wagoner Show out of Springfield, MO, before she was ‘the’ Dolly Pardon.

In a similar vein, here’s Wanda Jackson singing Funnel of Love (with Roy Clark on the sitar sounding guitar) at 45 and slowed to 33

Excellent.
Wow, that’s pretty cool. I’m not really much of a CW fan, but I am an accomplished musician and I always appreciate a finely crafted song. That you can slow this down and it still sounds great is quite impressive.
If anything it is closer to Cher. Although I still prefer the Miley Cyrus version with two guitars, cello, keyboard and a backup singer with a soulful, gorgeous voice made for this kind of music...less naturally country twangy, stronger and more upbeat.
According to Drudge and the Daily Mail, Dolly, at 68, wowed ‘em at Glastonbury this weekend. Here’s a copy & paste link: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2674120/Dolly-Parton-delivers-memorable-performance-Glastonbury.html
And that 33 rpm version is wonderful! Thanks.
“Little Willies” featuring Norah Jones does a GREAT cover
The pitch shifted version is amazing!
She also knows more "Dolly jokes" than anyone I was interviewing her on WJEZ Chicago (Now WJMK and no longer country) and she remarked that she had no desire to ever play the accordion as it might be painful.
