Like you say, anything can happen including to Germany, if they meet Algeria, everyone thinks of 1982 when Algeria defeated West Germany only for Austria and West Germany to collude to a draw to deny Algeria advancing. Germany's got too many things like this in its history for all of your ranting about Germany. They haven't won Silverware since 1996.

The good news is that Germany’s “Kryptonite”, Italy, is out of the tournament.

Germany is consistently good and has been for a very long time. They have been in the top four in the World Cup 12 times compared to Brazil's 10. They have finished third in the last two World Cups. They have made the final eight 15 consecutive times. They have won three world cups and been runner-ups four times.

Algeria won't beat Germany this World Cup if Algeria makes it thru.

They’re up against history.

Since the World Cup began in 1930, no European team has won when it was held in South America.

Brazil is the prohibitive undefeated favorite and will be tough to beat playing on the home turf.

If they come up short, Argentina, Uruguay and Mexico look good.
