Yeah, “issues’ was another buzzword used ad nauseum.
My first memories of hearing “reach out” was in a context like “Republicans need to ‘reach out’ to blacks, Hispanics, womyn,” etc., etc.
That phrase's cousin was “seat at the table” (usually uttered by some imbecile shakedown artist like the “Rev.” Sharpton).
Your synergistic, impactful post about buzzwords and phrases hit the sweet spot and should go viral because, at the end of the day, content is king.
Most of all of them can be found in the principles of propaganda directly or coming directly from them.
Whenevey people hear a bussword/phrase they should realize that they are being sold something. Which why advertizing geeks make great PR people. Same basic philosophies.
With a seat at the table, you are being ‘invited’ to be one of the cool kids. and unless you sit at the cool kids table you are one of the ‘other’. People are conditioned from birth to conform so being ‘other’ is scary/uncomfortable and besides, who DOESN’T want to be considered a cool kid and sit at the table? And go to cocktail parties in DC with other cool kids with money and power and live vicariously through association? You can be one of the elite if you sit at OUR table!!!
