Don’t buy it if it’s not a new trigger model and you can’t tell if your not a gunsmith.

Put in your zip code and select the make and model you want and you will see several offers from local gun stores. Pick the lowest one you want, or take a printout to your local distributor to see if they'll meet or beat the lowest price.

Gunbroker.com usually works best once you get used to their business model and can line up somebody with an FFL to ship firearms to and transfer them. You should look at Savage rifles as well, they’re as good as anything else out there, easier to work on, and don’t involve paying for a name. The lock-nut system of head spacing Savage uses really is a better idea.

I’d suggest you take a look at a Savage 110. I got a nice package topped with a Nikon scope for less than $500. The Accu-Trigger is super clean and breaks like glass.

So if you’re not dead set on the 700 check that rifle out.
