A couple says they were told not to come back to a restaurant in East Texas because theyre gay.
In the town of Pittsburg, Texas, Big Earls Bait House and Country Store is an institution. So Collin Dewberry and his partner Kelley decided to have breakfast there. He says everything seemed to be going fine until they paid their check and were approached by their waitress on the way out.
She told them the rules are on the door and it says Welcome to Big Earls where men act like men, women act like ladies, no saggy pants and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
And so I laughed and I asked what do you mean? says Dewberry. And thats when she said to us to put it plainly, we dont serve fags here.
Big Earl Cheney, the owner, says the reason Dewberry and his partner were asked not to return was because of their actions.
What I saw was one of them half way under the table with his legs stretched out into the other guys lap. And he kind of looked really possum eyed at me as they say it in East Texas, he kind of looked at me like uh-oh.
Cheney says he refuses to admit the couple back into his restaurant.
He continued, Im not gonna have people coming in here with their butt showing; Im not gonna have people coming in here naked; Im not gonna have people coming in here having sex on the tables.
Dewberry maintains they were doing nothing wrong and were discriminated against.
Nobody deserves to be treated disrespectfully at an establishment that just seconds ago accepted their money.

I tried calling Big Earl to offer my support and got this message....
Due to the tremendous amount of unnecessary phone calls we are receiving we are not answering calls. We are taking care of customers who are ACTUALLY here. Thank you for quadrupling our business! God bless, Big Earl’s.
_________
BOOM! Way to give it right back!!
Not necessary. I have no problem with innocent displays of affection between man/woman couples, such as putting an arm around a shoulder in a booth, rubbing a shoulder, etc. The owner has every right to restrict behavior to this type only.
“...there’s no such thing as “sex” between two people of the same gender. For sex you need two sexes.”
Money quote of the day!
The law system has a poor record on these type of cases.
“Mustn’t be mean to queers” seems to be the rule.
I wonder if anyone has tried the tactic of citing public health as a reason.
“We don’t serve fags in here because they’re disease-ridden, may have feces present on them, they carry AIDS and may leak fluids onto the seats due to damaged sphincters.”
I guess it was the daughter of the owner who told them not to come back right after taking their money.
In any case I reckon if someone is going to eat at a place called ‘Big Earl’s Bait House and Country Store’ they might want to be prepared to not get offended at whatever happens in there. I mean come on. “Boo hoo someone was mean to me at Big Earl’s, I was expecting so much more from the ol’ bait house/country store, boo hoo.”
Freegards
Hold on there sweetums. If this trend spreads, you and I will never be able to find a place to eat!
They could change the sign a bit...
We are a family establishment. If you came here to do ANYTHING other than order off the menu, then we insist you leave and DO NOT come back.
NO EXCEPTIONS!
Then throw out a straight couple for breaking the rules.
Change the door sign...
“All persons/actions on premiss are videoed to help protect the owners’ business, employees and patrons because of threats of lawsuits by homosexuals”.
I think all businesses should adopt such a policy. And it should be publicized.
We can order some pudding online.
“..A bunch of raging fags are going to descend on this town like nobodys business.”
What if the faggies are met by a larger group of raging hetero’s? If “flash mobs” can be summoned up via texting, why not a counterprotest, like the one in Texas where the Black Panthers were confronted by a huge crowd of whites and were then forced to quietly withdraw.
That's "Bait House", not "Batin' House."
Exactly right. If they were acting appropriately in a restaurant, how would anyone know they weren’t just 2 male friends out for a meal?

Kinky known for being politically incorrect. Wiki.:”One of Friedman’s most infamous concerts was a 1973 performance in Buffalo, New York; upon performing “Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in the Bed” (a song that lampoons feminism), a group of what Friedman described as “cranked-up lesbians” entered into a fight with the band and forced the concert to end early while Friedman and the band were escorted off stage. The National Organization for Women awarded Friedman the “Male Chauvinist Pig Award” later that year, an award Friedman took with pride. Friedman would not return to Buffalo until 2012.”
I live in East Texas, if anything this will grow his business. I know you all heard about the Chick-fil-a day. I wish you were here in East Texas to see it for real. The wait was 3 hours at the least. Never saw anything like it before. When they first opened in our growing community, the line with folks camped out the weekend before had to be hundreds. Again, never saw anything like it.
