Any stories of Obama buyer's remorse?

Posted on 05/27/2014 11:31:09 PM PDT by eekitsagreek

Just wondering if anyone has stories of people with Obama buyer's remorse. I am not talking about those who are dedicated leftists, but those who are more of the moderate or independent minded voter who now regret having voted for him once or twice.

In my case, I met a woman who was absolutely taken by the way Obama spoke so eloquently. She was sure this man would change things for the better. She really believed that a new era had begun.

Now that she has seen what Obama has done, she has really regretted voting for him and is now fearful of what may come next. I asked her if this was the first time she was captivated by a guy's "sweet talk".

She did not say anything, but the look she gave me provided the answer.

I know many people who voted for the Obamanation twice. Not one of them has admitted voter’s remorse in my presence. Of course they are the ones who now want all political discussion to be taboo. I think it’s doubtful that they are privately remorseful. Their firm belief that they did the right thing in voting for a “black man” assuages any guilt they should feel.

Few will admit voting for him was a bad idea. They are in love with the ideal society, as opposed to the real society.

Went to a TEA Party rally back in 2010. Standing next to me was a black woman. Between speeches we struck up a conversation. Like so many others, she voted for Obama because she was caught up in the excitement of electing our first black president, but she admitted she really didn't know much about him. However, 2 years later, she now realized she had been wrong. She was particularly concerned about the economy — worried that she or her husband or both might lose their jobs, their home, their pensions — everything they had worked for.

The woman also was concerned that there were few people of her ethnicity at the rally and hoped that more would come to their senses. Since Obama was elected again, I guess not.

Nobody knew anything about this bozo. If they did, no one would have voted for him except Joe Biden. ‘Nuff said.

Most Obama voters either are not capable of critical thinking or do not value the skill if it make their man look bad. These are people who expect to be lied to by their ‘leader’ once in a while. They accept his lies graciously as Obama views them with disgust and contempt.

Several people I’ve talked to who said he isn’t the person he portrayed himself as in 2008 and were disappointed in his performance but none that were outraged (they were LIVs after all; they still don’t really have a clue like conservatives who have studied and scrutinized him and found him to be a double agent for a foreign government like we have...; )

I lived in Seattle for almost a decade so yes, I know many that voted for Obama. As it stands, I only know two that regret it and they only voted for him in 2008. Within a year one knew they had made a grave mistake. Within the second year the other also realized they’d made a grave mistake.

Honestly, it was a well played hand by the left. They suckered a lot of people who really wanted a change for the good of the country. Change they got, but it was for the worse. I know there are many more that have regrets but are either ashamed to say so or are scared of being labelled a racist. Very dark times we live in brothers and sisters. Very dark times indeed. I currently keep a low profile for a reason.

Best regards,

Render

I think more women were captivated by his charming personality and the promises he would never keep and got conned when they voted for him. While my own personal experience has shown me women are generally more distrusting at first when they meet someone they tend to take the bait, hook, line, and sinker if a conman has a charming personality, is reasonably attractive and acts like he’s paying attention to them and their needs. I think this is the reason the majority of them were conned. And I bet many are having buyer’s remorse but will never admit it because they don’t want to admit they were wrong.

^ btw one of my jobs is investigating conmen and white collar criminals so I’m very familiar with their mindset and lack of empathy for their fellow man and the strong predator / prey instincts they have.

I have long wondered about liberal intellectuals and their silence.
Obviously they agree with Obama philosophically but what about his
total lack of honesty, competency, and the propensity for scandal
within his administration? Are they in fear of fellow liberal travelers,
too afraid to speak out? Or, is honest objectivity a thing of the past
among these people? Or, have they drifted so far to the left that
like true Soviet style communists they now define truth as anything
that makes their side look good and the opposition conservatives look
bad?

I know a guy who was in love with Obama from 2004. He ended friendships with anyone who called Obama a muslim in 2008. A few months back he said he voted for Obama only because he hated Sarah Palin. I guess he forgot that I remembered him wanting to go down on Obama after the 2004 speech at the Dem convention. He also must have forgotten that Palin didn’t run in 2012 when he voted for Obama the second time.

There should be a mental exam before you can vote. Say one thing stupid and you can’t vote for the next two elections.

You are describing my oldest sister to a tee. When I visit back east around Thanksgiving, I make an effort to say not a word about her Tiger-Beat like photo montage/ ‘Shrine’ to Obama. It’s disgusting and I’m a bit disappointed that she doesn’t even bother trying to see what’s really transpiring. We used to discuss politics, but we don’t talk of the Presidency since Novemeber of 2008. Like most libs, she cannot handle any dissenting views. So fine, keep your head in the sand, is what I’ll be thinking.

LOL! That must have been some speech that Obama gave in 2004.
He forgot that you remembered all about it!

None that will admit it. They are still stuck on their dream of what Obama is going to accomplish. Obamacare would have been perfect if not for the red states who won’t expand Medicaid, greedy insurance companies, and discriminatory doctors. They are still projecting their utopian fantasies on The One. When he fails, it is never his fault or due to any flaws in his policies.

I'm not sure that's correct. My friends, most of whom are well educated, voted for Obama twice and still think he's a swell guy. It's like a cult. Makes me sad to see such good, supposedly God-fearing people worship at the altar of this satanic being.

One of my friends hasn't had a paying job since Obama was first elected, but she insists that the economy is doing well. She points to those bogus unemployment statistics as proof of economic recovery. I said, if there are all these jobs, why are you still not working. She can't answer that, but she'll call me a hateful racist for not worshiping Obama as she does.
