On May 24, the family of Santa Barbara shooting suspect Elliot Rodger released a statement through their attorney saying they are "against guns" and support gun control.
On May 23, their son allegedly shot and killed 7 people, including himself, and wounded 7 others. Breitbart News reported his motive was "retribution" for women who had rejected his advances.

Precisely, and the parents are deflecting from something. Wait for it..
The killer evidently purchased the guns legally...despite the fact that he was already living in a sort of sheltered residence for the mentally ill (which was where he killed the first three victims, with a knife). It was an apartment where he had been placed by his therapists and parents with three other mentally ill men.
At what point does diagnosed mental illness become something that a gun dealer can check so that he doesn’t sell a gun to somebody like this?
On CBS Sunday morning a few minutes ago, they showed the father of the one of the victims and he said he “blamed the craven politicians and the NRA.” More BS.
Surely his parents knew there were more than a few screws loose in this wacko's head. This could not have been a surprise. Yet they choose to deflect all the blame on the weapons rather than the perpetrator.
You have to blame your horrific parenting skills and lack of proper controls on this obviously-insane person. You are wretched, evil people, and I actually take some solace in the fact that your lives are pure pain right now.
I wonder what would have happened if they had requested a warrant based on the videos?
They should have been concerned about his social skills rather than parking him in front of a video game all the time.
