What I noticed was that instead of the shelves being full front to back with maybe 5 or 6 of whatever is in front, there are only 2 or 3 now. And the store where I do most of my shopping is slowly but surely getting rid of a lot of familiar name brands and going with their own brand. Also lots of frozen fruit and vegetables but not many in cans. My grandson can go through a large box of Grape Nuts in nothing flat. Had to ask the store manager to order special for me because they no longer carry them. Other stuff I have to order on-line like Cheer powder because no one seems to carry it any more.

Also see shelf stocking being done less and less by store employees and more by suppliers.

Find a Winco Food store. They have lots of different food items in bins and usually much cheaper than boxed/bottled items. My store has all types of flours, spices, grains, cereals, pet foods, dried fruits, peanuts, cashews, almonds, chocolate candy, make your own peanut butter etc.

These Winco stores are employee owned and non-union. But you have to bag your own groceries.
