MICHIGAN CITY | Officials at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore announced Thursday that scientists still do not know what caused holes to appear in Mount Baldy last summer, and the popular attraction will remain closed for further study.
Nathan Woessner, 6, of Sterling, Ill., was swallowed by a hole July 12 and rescued by firefighters.
Two additional holes have appeared since July, park officials said Thursday.

How could you possibly forget RAAACISM?
LOL!
It’s just so obvious. These holes, whether here or in Russia, are due to climate change.
Used to be called subsidence. Years ago when coal mining lots of trees were buried, as they rotted away houses built on top of them sank into the ground. Also happened from the collapse of old underground mine workings, coal and rock.
Or it could be buried treasure and the traps left behind, think Oak Island, are finally rotting away. Or could be an X-File.
Scientists still do not know what caused them, but Dr. I.M. Kooky, Indiana State U., assured parents,
“We’re fixing the holes where the rains come in, to keep our minds from wandering, where they will go ... oh. It really doesn’t matter if we’re wrong, we’re right.”
And he continued lecturing on in this sing-song way until it got dark and everyone wandered off, watching where they stepped.
“Like throwing a hotdog down a hallway.”
Now remember, walk without rhythm, and we wont attract the worm.

In other news Michael Moore has been grief stricken by the loss of a hotdog he was carrying days ago. An obviously shaken Moore was last seen in the Indiana dunes national lakeshore. Rosie Odonnel has called to comfort Mr Moore and help find his missing hot dog but was distracted when she, herself, had dropped a honey barbeque chicken wing en route. Neither have been seen since.

(You knew this was coming, didn't you?)
Remember that beautiful green arched highway (Route 12) that I showed you photos of a couple of weeks ago?
It leads right up to Mount Baldy.
I suspect it is Graboids

How many will it take to fill the Albert Hall?
Global warming is heating up the sand, causing it to shrink. If they had built the dune out of preshrunk sand, this wouldn’t happen.
Reminded me of a movie serial at the Saturday all day movies theater, where we kids spent hours watching several movies, cartoons and serials. That was in late ‘40s-early ‘50s.
Superman vs. The Mole Men
Cute! We have that bark shelter for our leopard gecko.
