It was an epiphany for me as well-I wasn’t brought up to trust government outside of its constitutional limitations, but Waco showed me what that really meant...

I should have said “allegedly.” I stand corrected.

Davidians' FLIR analyst Carlos Ghigliotti dies "of natural causes" before completing proof of over 200 shots fired into building final day. Tanks sprayed flammable gas into space lit by kerosene as Feds had cut electricity at outset. Concrete room was death chamber as Fed placed shaped charge on roof which instantly killed women and children cowering inside. An exercise in fascist power--its counterpart foiled at Bundy site when citizens with guns and cameras prevented a repeat.

Did they feel they shouldnt have paid the 200 dollars? I mean it was Texas so I am sure that the tax was probably as conservative as possible. Is this the government's excuse for brutally murdering dozens of innocent men, women and children?

Come to Corinth, Mississippi, and visit the tank used to set off the fires. It sits on Tate Street just 400 yards North of Highway 72 next to the American Legion Post 6.

Interesting how
Senate Scumbag Leader, Harry Reid, seems to be trying to set the stage for "another Waco" in NV, with his branding of not just the ranchers, but the people supporting him, as "domestic terrorists." Curious about Reid's claims that the rancher, like Romny, hasn't paid his taxes. And his claims that a) the protestors were armed with "automatic weapons," and b) that the protestors were claiming that the reason they had women and children there, were to act as "human shields," as if the federal government cared about murdering women and children.
Funny how Hassan's massacre at Ft. Hood is classified as "workplace violence," while a peaceful protest (by the protestors, at least) is labeled "terrorism" by Reid and his ilk.

The Clintons and their MSM cohorts were able to do a pretty good job of convincing low info Americans that the Davidians needed to be eliminated, at least after the fact.
I’m not sure the Nevada propaganda effort is going as well. The fact that so many locals came out in support is a real positive thing.

I think it could have easily stopped if David Koresh would have talked with authorities. The county sheriff could have easily picked up Koresh on his regular visits outside their land. The Feds could have done so as well.
However, the BATF wanted to provide a show to the media, which would improve the BATF's budgeting for the year, which is why they invited the media along for the "dynamic entry." Even though the BATF KNEW that they no longer had the element of surprise, they attempted a violent confrontation, all the while with Koresh begging them not to, because there were women and children inside.

Don't forget the BATF had invited the media to their attack, in order to record "the show" to be used during the budgeting process.

Did they try to talk with authorities? They were never given the opportunity to talk with the feds, and Koresh HAD spoken with the sheriff shortly before the BATF attacked the Branch Davidians. From the start, it was going to be a "dynamic entry."

Do you remember that the original reason given by the feds for their attack on the Branch Davidians was due to reports of child abuse? I have never trusted the later excuse that they violated the NFA, especially since the feds razed (bulldozed) the "compound" shortly after the attack, effectively destroying any evidence not destroyed in the fire.

Whether they had the auto sears or didn’t, your original point is correct - killing 80 people over the non-payment of a $200 tax might be considered extreme by some civilized people. Not Janet Reno, Bill Clinton, or Eric Holder, but by some civilized people.

I think I should explain that Texans did not expect Waco to go down as it did. We were and are shocked, then OK City happened exactly a year later, and since then everybody is armed to the teeth.

I remember thinking of how history repeats itself... On April 19,1943, the Nazi's began the liquidation of the Warsaw Ghetto...
Watching the tank recovery vehicle on TV, punching holes in the walls, and later the APCs rolling around outside the burning buildings made me sick.
