When the backlash comes, it’s gonna be a bitch. You cannot force homosexuality as “normal behavior” on decent society without a backlash occurring.
Read the story. It doesn't sound like she was forcing anything on anyone. She was who she was and it sounds like the whole town knew it and didn't have a problem with it because she didn't flaunt it and just did her job. It also appears that the mayor exceeded his authority by firing her and the majority of the city council are opposed to it. If she was some sort of flaming lesbian I doubt she'd have the support she has.
