SAN DIEGO - A Cox Communications employee was shocked after he opened a box at work and found two newborn kittens clinging to life inside.
Two kittens are recovering after they were found inside a box that was shipped from the Los Angeles area to a Cox Communications office in Chula Vista.
The two kittens were somehow packed with fiberglass equipment, loaded into a Cox Communications semi-truck and shipped from the Hollywood to San Diego County.
Cox employee JC Collins said, "They were very, very lucky that they didn't fall out of it in transport or when we were unloading the truck."
Collins has been working at the Cox warehouse for 34 years and thought he had seen it all. He couldn't believe it when a co-worker opened a box and found the two little furballs staring right up at him.

Baby basement kitties no bigger than my finger.

Gotta love a story with a happy ending, and kittens.
Agreed on all counts.
Wow
Mommy cat must have been frantic
Oh my. Reminds me of when I was little, the "joke" about being packaged up and dropped off at the Post Office.
Like Garfield sending Nermal to Abu Dhabi.
They inspect packages that scream. Freakin' busybodies.
How does something like this make the news? Do people just call up the station and say “guess what just happened!” Seems just a bit frivolous. Just saying...
Ceiling Cat moves in mysterious ways.
maybe they follow what's trending on social media...
They almost covered the Bundy Ranch, so they had to find some cute kitten news to broadcast instead.
“What we think happened was the mom had the babies and she put them in a safe spot
and she left. Then they got boxed up and they got shipped.”

I have a rear entry garage and a metal driveway gate. I used to leave the door open in the Summer when I went to work, so the heat wouldn’t build up in the garage and transfer to the house.
Came home one day and when I got out of the car I heard a strange noise. Thought it was just the car cooling down. After changing clothes, I went back to the garage and still heard the strange sound.
Tracked the sound down and found 3 tiny kitties behind a box. I have been owned by cats since I was of single digit age, so I figured the mama had stashed them there. Sure enough, there was a strange cat lying out on my cement pad behind my garage later that day.
I put the recently born kitties in a box layered with paper towels and a bowl of water on my patio where I could watch them through a French door. .....Wasn’t long before mama was there and picking one up. She went across my backyard, down the side and under a decorative fence on a courtyard.
In short order, she transported all the kittens the same way; taking them to whatever her intended destination was.
Gave me a good feeling.
You are right about mommy cat. I hope she knows somewhere that her babies will have very good homes and very good long lives.
Cats are very smart critters, the ones I’ve known anyway,
Awww, sweet.
Maybe your story (and the one with the article) will encourage a long time FReeper to retell the story of Wallter (it was a live freep thread many years ago!).
People love stories about animals.
You will never go wrong if you write a tale about a cat, a squirrel or a parrot. I speak as a British journalist, by the way. It may be different in America!
LOL Thanks for the laugh. :D
