Obama was not suspended from his duties as president after the White House air-pressure gun incident. But, alert Secret Service agents tackled the middle schooler and put him in a choke hold, until the President was out of danger.

An unidentified school employee saw the air-pressure projectile device and got scared because, to her, it looked like a fearsome weapon. Gee, boy howdy! Imagine that! A public employee getting all skeered and hysterical and such over a real by damn weapon....wonder if he/she feeling so back and upset now they can't work. Maybe gonna have to go on disability and all that. Can't even every go back to work after that tragedy. Horrible.

Was the janitor quickly called to mop up the puddle on the floor?

The other one was coil gun: a tube surrounded by a coil and powered by a standard AA battery.
Sounds like the kid made a rail gun.

OMG They are all going crazy. Like a teen boy (or girl, for that matter) couldn’t flick some “projectile” all the way across the room with bare fingers. So the school followed their mindless zero tolerance policy, and suspended the teacher. What a bunch of nutcases!

Man, they would have really crapped at my experiment of making potassium chlorate from bleach and salt substitute and in 7th grade.
I made gummy bears blow up in blue fire.

The teacher’s union is even sticking up for the suspended teacher, saying that it boils down to preventing the teaching of science.

SCHOOL PROJECT?
My son has a middle school science project about parakeet genetics. We have Birds and eggs that became baby birds at home. In truth we will train our legion of birds to sense a Demo-Rat and to hold their poop until they can score a direct deposit on top of any Demo-Rat's head.... After all political speech is still protected unless you are a Nevada Cattle Rancher...LOL

Was the janitor quickly called to mop up the puddle on the floor? Puddle? What about the brick shaped feces? Probably needed a Hazmat team.

Criminalizing the thought of guns.
Instilling uncertainty in the minds of the people, so they will always be unsure if they are going to break the ‘law’. Raise their anxiety level, so they will strive to rid themselves of all forbidden thoughts.
That’s how slavish sheep are created.

Back around 1968 I had a electrical shop teacher ( when was the last time you heard of that) that taught us to build coil guns and we shot nails across the room.

An unidentified school employee saw the air-pressure projectile device and got scared because she is a complete idiot, a coward, a control freak, and (probably) a militant man-hating feminist.

Man, I’m just reminiscing about all the “dangerous” weapons we made out of just our school supplies alone.
Disassemble a bic pen, add spitballs or thumbtacks and we had a blowgun. A ruler, rubber band, and binder clip made a nice “rubber band gun”. Fold up a piece of paper just right, and you had an origami “throwing star”.
Heck, I even made a blackjack out of a sock and a few packs of “Now & Laters” one time.
