I wonder if the man who poured half his life into creating Firefox is happy about it?

I agree Fred. My comment was not gracious at all. What those assholes did to him was downright disgusting and I told them just what I thought.

I Mostly use Chrome, but I found that one application I use does NOT do well with Chrome, so I use Waterfox (a variation of Firefox) that handles 64 bit. So I’m going to have to find a replacement that handles that. Does anyone have a recommendation for something that’s been around for a while (i.e. I want to make sure this new browser, will have enough development people to apply software fixes for security holes) Also, hopefully before I dump waterfox, I can export the bookmarks I do have for it and xfer them to the new broswer. Frankly, I’m not overly enamored of chrome, as they do seem to “want to take over the world”, but I do like their bookmarking features. It’s been a while since I’ve used Opera, so perhaps I should take a look at their latest and greatest. At any rate, I DO need to find a browser that handles 64 bit applications optimally, AND has been around a while, and with any luck can import bookmarks from other browsers (although this last wish may or may not be just a dream.)

Not enough to defeat the fascists. I suggest that a liberal CEO in another business, preferably consumer goods, be picked out. And that business should be boycotted until the liberal is forced to resign or the business goes down the drain, which ever comes first. We continue doing this until the other side cries uncle. Believe me it will work, because it has already. If you believe Oprah and Letterman left and are leaving the airwaves because of their own choice, you are wrong. Those two are perfect examples of our side tuning someone out when they planted themselves in the liberal camp. It is no coincidence that Oprah’s ratings tanked after she took up for Obama, same for Letterman.

I dumped Firefox. I now use Konqueror as my primary browser on siduction, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Debian unstable. Here is a picture of FreeRepublic in Konqueror. Konqueror is best known as having the code from which Apple used to form the Safari browser. I also use rekonq (a spin-off of Konqueror using WebKit), and Chromium (the open source variant of Google Chrome).

I true dumped Firefox. This is what I now browse with for most sites. . Yes Konqueror, the source of the browser tree which includes Safari and Google Chrome, yet is used for web browsing by only a small fraction of desktop users. I also used it's spin off, Rekonq, and Chromium (open source variant of Chrome) for playing Words with Friends.
