Is it just global warming, or has it gotten a tad steamy in the multiplex lately?
No sooner had viewers taken in the long, graphic lesbian sex scenes in the French coming-of-age drama Blue Is the Warmest Color last year than they were treated to Stranger by the Lake, a homoerotic thriller (also French) set in a gay cruising site, at which men could be seen pleasuring each other and themselves with unsettling, frankness.

The challenge today is that, rather than being relegated to disreputable theaters or scruffy back sections of video stores, porn is on the home entertainment centers and portable devices of discerning connoisseurs everywhere. How do you shock mainstream audiences who can now have their most florid sexual fantasies acted out 24/7, at the click of a mouse? And how can audiences be anything but bored or faintly amused by efforts that increasingly look like the bids for attention of a petulant arrested adolescent?

We have a depraved culture.
Depraved. Symptoms of the decaying culture.
Oh look, queer sex is enjoyable too. Perhaps you might like to try it also.
It will not be long before we start seeing things like fights to the death, and other similar types of “entertainment.” You are right, we are a decaying culture, and decay rarely reverses itself. Forget about “never again”. In the future, that which should be “never again” will not only happen, but will also probably be a pay-per-view event.
I think we’ll see a polarization eventually. A majority of people engaging in sick, licentious behavior and events (think Videodrome meets Thunderdome) mainly in the cities and liberal bastions, and a minority will totally reject it, insulate pocket communities in a similar way to the Amish and shun all outside influences.
MMA is only two steps away from that.

"Who loves you...and who do you LOVE?!?"
Hubby and I are watching the premiere of Season 4 of Game of Thrones and there is a sex-scene. Hubby points out that this was not in the book; and, honestly, it just stops the story in it’s tracks and I am bored waiting for them to get back to the story.
There are less serious injuries in MMA then there are in football and even soccer. At least MMA is teaching people to fight.
I’m sure you are correct.
Kinetic energy is proportional to the square of the speed.
Given the rink size, the speeds are lower, so less energy and less injury.
One of William Shakespeare’s first poems was “Venus and Adonis” now known to be his most graphic depiction of sexual excitement. His cousin, Robert Southwell, wrote to him and warned him of writing poems that only concentrated on the baser instincts. He encouraged Shakespeare to write things which lift the soul. When the many playwrights around him were writing what was essentially soft core porn, Shakespeare transcended them all by lifting the soul and becoming the standard by which all good plays are judged.
Dunno how they’re going to shock us when, for the most part, we won’t even go see their crap.
I loved the look on Arya's face at the end when she got her own horse.
The leaders of a country a serial sex offender, saying it's OK to lie about sex and that blow jobs aren't sex?
A leader leads. He can lead into righteousness or degradation. Clinton did the latter.
You’re 100% correct. Good is bad and bad is good.
I watched ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ a few weeks ago and the numerous sex scenes were just short of being pornographic. It got very boring very fast. The scenes involving Quaaludes were quite funny though.
I fell asleep halfway through. Three hours is too damn long.
