You’ve got a great thing going here, Jim. I could never match what you’ve done here. I just don’t want Free Republic to lose what it is.
I came to Free Republic because there were great researchers here, who cut through the PC garbage and dealt with real evidence. If there was a hoax they figured it out - like the Dan Rather Memo-gate issue which brought FR to the national limelight. People with amazing skills, experience, knowledge, and access to information were working together to make sense out of the evidence, even when it seemed crazy to the “cool” people like Dan Rather. I loved that spirit, appreciated the stimulation of the cross-examination that happened here, and believed in the necessity for analysis outside the propaganda being given to us in the lamestream media.
At the same time, the capabilities that John has developed here are amazing. This truly is a fantastic place, because both pieces of the puzzle were excellent - the contributors and the builders.
At no time has that ever been needed more. I’ve mentioned Benghazi, Fast and Furious, and Extortion 17 - all of which resulted in our military and/or LE heroes being betrayed, to death, by this regime. Yet the “mainstream” media would think either you or I to be nuts if we suggested as much. Sharyl Atkisson has struck out on her own because she was silenced by the top powers at CBS.
Glenn Beck, who initially poo-poohed the “birthers” because he had been threatened, tried to appease the controllers at Fox, but when they wouldn’t do anything to protect his staff who were receiving daily threats to their lives in an attempt to silence Beck on the communist/Islamist connections in Obama’s regime, realized that if you let the demoralized public perception determine what is OK to talk about and what isn’t, you’re eventually going to end up talking about piddles. I just listened to Yuri Bezmenov again, talking about how that is exactly what their demoralization plan aimed for.
I understand that you want Free Republic to keep from being labeled as “fringe”. But labeled by who? The same people who labeled Beck “fringe” when he talked about Van Jones, and labeled Atkisson “fringe” when she talked about Benghazi? Those people will always be out there; it’s part of the demoralization plan as outlined by Bezmenov, which I linked to earlier in the thread. They totally rest on the public buying into that revised perception of what is crazy and what isn’t.
That’s why it’s so critical for fogbow and other anti-freedom entities to have the Free Republic “sock puppets” that they boast about. Free Republic is the tip of the spear. If they can make it appear that Free Republic thinks a topic is crazy then they can shape the public perception in a major, major way.
If Free Republic lets these psy-ops agents do that to us, we become a dull spear and we sign patriotic Americans over to thinking that people who see a naked emperor are alone, the only ones noticing what’s happening in this country. Or that they’re crazy. Or too “conspiratorial”.
It’s that demoralization of the majority of Americans that has allowed the wolf to come in and kill a LOT of chickens in full view of everyone, but with nobody willing or able to demand that it stop. I mentioned 3 “scandals”. There’s also NSA-gate, IRS-gate, etc. We all know this regime is a criminal enterprise, but we’re afraid of losing our “credibility” if we come right out and say it.
Like the people who wouldn’t call the emperor naked because only “knaves” couldn’t see his nice, new magic clothes. As long as the sellers of the “magic clothes” can get us to believe we’re exposed as “knaves” if we say the emperor is naked, they will succeed.
And in this case, a naked emperor means a dead America. None of us here want that, except the “sock puppets”, and they - and many of us here - know who they are and are realizing who more and more of them are all the time.
There is a serious problem with what you are trying to do here. NSA, IRS, Fast and Furious - those are real scandals with hard evidence where the Dems and MSM try to pretend otherwise. However, you are pushing a 'scandal' that fails Occam's Razor on so many levels - and by trying to wrap the mantle of actual, real scandals around your severely contrived scandal, you give the other side ammo to paint all of us as nutbars when we raise, say, the IRS scandal.
Seriously, the Fogbow types (and I only visited that site for the first time today, looks like a pretty typical left-wing-trashing-the-right-wing site), actually love having you spout such theories as you have done here. So they can broadcast them as evidence of how wigged out conservatives are, just as we pile it on when a liberal goes bonkers.

On Facebook I saw a couple days ago a video demonstration from an inner city where a guy pretended to pacify a young girl with a cloth over her mouth who screamed loudly and abducted her running down the street with her “unconscious”. Nobody raised an eyebrow of turned heads. He even tried in front of a Police Cruiser. Same result the Officer just start cruising down the same street in opposite direction and NO reaction from him either!!!
Is that what we want on F.R.???
Better to ignore them or better yet, thank them, then LET IT GO, no matter what your ego and/or emotions are telling you in the heat of the moment. Live to fight (better) another day.

In the mean time, answer your critics by first anticipating their criticisms and improving. If what you offer is good, it will stand by itself. If not, then keep improving.
Jim Robinson seems to be nicely telling you the same things and personally, I have no idea what the PTBs have directed at him and his family.
If they're after you from time to time, imagine the crosses he must bear all the time!

I know the Dan Rather case. The Dan Rather case is very dear to my heart. But m’dear, Fuddy is no Dan Rather.
And please do not worry about FR losing what we have. I have to admit that we suffer mightily when great posters with large followings and their own agendas become disenchanted with our direction and leave us. And some have even made somewhat of a career of trying to bring us down after leaving. But, thankfully, we’ve always managed to survive.
And don’t sell yourself short. You could start your own forum and probably have hundreds of posters within a few months. And who knows? Your research could actually lead someday to Obama being locked up for murdering Fuddy like Micheal Rivero’s research into the strange death of Vince Foster brought the Clintons to justice and Alex Jones got Bush for wiring up the twin towers. All naked emperors deserve to be brought down.
