Thank you for your reply. The iPhone is connected to the laptop. It shows up with its own icon as an external drive ie f drive. It will not accept the mp3 file when I try to drag and drop into the f drive. I hope that explained it well enough.
I solved all of my iPhone issues by migrating to an Android based phone.
Not only does the phone cost far less, it performs better and my no-contract carrier is saving me about $500 a year over ATT
All you iGadget complainers better settle down or the AppleBois will drag you off to iReeducation camp....
Perhaps try converting the file using another program on your computer.
Take it from your phone to another program.
Open it in that program and then save it.
From there transfer it to where you want it to go.
