Quite often you don't notice the breathing problems. Your body adjusts and you breath more shallowly and more often but unless you are actually panting you just feel generally miserable and tired.
You should have a Peak Flow Meter to check.

Your body adjusts and you breath more shallowly and more often but unless you are actually panting you just feel generally miserable and tired.I can actually detect my shallow breath. I wouldn't try my normal 7-story-stairs hike when I get back to work, for a while.
