Turns out I had Consumption and Congestive Chill, Bloody Flux which caused Apoplexy, the Grippe, and Flus of Humour, Scrofula, and Putrid Fever.

God I love how they used to refer to disease back in the 1800’s.

If you have a nebulizer, a mix of hydrogen peroxide and saline is useful for treating pneumonia.

I might be naive, but how would you have prescription medication available?

I too have a dreaded fear of taking an ambulance ride. I’ve had friends charged $5-10k for the privilege. Most had insurance which probably negotiated it down to $2-3k. But if you’re uninsured you owe the whole shebang.

On the other hand, if you come in an ambulance you’re automatically admitted rather than spending god-knows-how many hours in a hard plastic chair next to somebody with infectious TB.

It's great that you're healed.

I got a real bad case of pneumonia a few years ago, and collapsed. Someone saw me and got me to the emergency ward. I'm fine, put here's a caution: it never really completely goes away.

I've gone to pure foods, detoxed as much as possible, live a very balanced lifestyle. I also did a bucket list, but cancelled it halfway through....it does have a healing effect to do some of those things you've always wanted to do!

Stay healthy.

Pneumonia with no breathing problem in the symptom list—a first! Research doctors should be very interested.

Welcome to the club.

Not quite that mouthful, I had bacterial pneumonia once. I went from cheerful and healthy to very nearly dead in a few hours one afternoon, it was that sudden.

Antibiotics saved my life; be sure you don’t end your regimen too soon, though - my understanding is you have to continue the antibiotics for a while even after you feel okay or those last little bacteria can grow back with a bang.

Glad you’re still with us.

Death is an option for me.

If that is true Laz, then what the hell are you doing self prescribing medication and self diagnosing when you feel at deaths door?

Really. This is scary. It could have turned out quite differently. I won't get into specifics, but as someone who believes in holistic medicine as self care over a doctor most times, I am horrified at your story. Especially having recently been very sick myself for a month. Let's just pray that it work for you this time and there is no rebound or underlying infection growing inside.

"...valvular revolvular..."

Hahahahahaha....all I could see when I read that was "vulvavulvavulvavulva"...too many "V", "U", "A" and "L"s in one short segment!

In any case, take care of yourself...hope you are feeling better.

Glad you pulled through. Pneumonia is nothing to fool with, which is why I went kayaking in the everglades the first time I had it.
