South Bay man has SUV stolen with dog inside. Dog found dead.
A South Bay man suffered a double-tragedy after his SUV was stolen with his dog inside. The car was recovered with the dog inside -- dead. George Kiriyama reports.
Car thieves apparently abandoned a stolen SUV with a dog inside, leaving the animal "to die."
Michael McVey had his Nissan Pathfinder stolen from the parking lot at the Walmart in Gilroy. Inside the vehicle was his beloved dog, Keiko.
"I could care less about the car," McVey said. "The dog, we've been friends for a long time."
For 15 years, McVey and his dog did everything and went everywhere together.
Baltimore Cop Beat Girlfriend's Dog to Death: Police McVey and his friends spent days searching for Keiko, hoping whoever stole the SUV let the dog out.
The vehicle was recovered four days after it was stolen. Police found the SUV in San Jose with the dog inside, dead in the backseat.
McVey said he wept for days, wondering how someone could do this to his dog.
"It would have been best if they just let the dog go somewhere," he said. "It would have been best if they just let the dog go in the parking lot and kicked her out of the car cause she would have come and found me."
Too Much Caffeine? There's An App For That Police are now searching for two persons of interest caught on surveillance footage by a Walmart camera.
"I'd like to know what kind of people they are," McVey said. "That they could torture an animal like that."
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 1-800-782-7436.
You are lucky the cops didn't show up and shoot both your wife and the dog.
Mine is a Lhasa. But I have a boy Lhasa and he loves everybody.
The one that hates skateboarders is a Pomeranian/Maltese mix so maybe its the Pomeranian in him that gets pissed off LOL..but he will flip over in a second for tummy rubs from anyone
Actually I blame the dog owner more, I find it completely ridiculous that so many people take their dogs to the store, mall, hardware stores, whatever. But to take an animal and then leave it in the car? What the hell, leave the dog home, and if you cant be away from it for a short period you have a serious problem. There are too many people claiming that their pets are service animals just so they can take them wherever they go and this ends up causing problems for people with legitimate service animals.
It’s obvious: a cop stole the car.
I do, too. The only way my dog would be "left in the car" would be if I was pumping gas, paying at the pump, and standing right next to the car the entire time with my concealed handgun. This guy was a fool, trusting his dog to "the kindness of criminals".
And even if the crooks had "done the right thing", his dog would quite possibly be lost or killed in traffic. Either way the owner was an idiot.
