This is a hopeful development for people with other genetic illnesses -- so they don't have to go through life having been "born that way."

It’s Type I diabetes that most are “born with”. This is Type II and many people, even those in good shape with good habits develop it at some point in their later life. There are a couple of tyypes of Type II that are either insulin dependent or insulin resistant. My body cells stopped properly processing sugars so I’m insulin resistant and take a med that helps to process the sugars. Hope this works out. I didn’t take meds for it until after about 7 years when diet and exercise weren’t completely addressing the problem anymore. I’d like to be off the meds again.
