Enjoy one of the most beautiful renditions of Nessum Dorma you will ever hear.
bttt
Jackie Evancho - Nessun Dorma - Superb - HDTV
From Jackie's Guest appearance on America's Got Talent (2011).
I don’t think anyone has ever sung an operatic aria as well Jackie at that age.
What planet is she from? Can’t be from here on Earth!
Wonderful, wonderful voice but Nessun Dorma sung in soprano just doesn’t reach the heights and crispness as that sung by a male tenor. IMHO
I dont think anyone has ever sung an operatic aria as well Jackie at that age.
No offense, but the late great Beverly Sills could sing rings around this kid.

La Sills is TEN here.
Oh, gosh, Placido ...
I’m going to have to watch my DVD of “Carmen” again. Caliente!
Roberto Alagna - La Marseillaise

I will listen. Sills was great singer but was unaware she was great at 10.
now listen to one of the best tenors ever
Mario Lanza’s “Nessun Dorma”

My honest opinion, the recording of 10-year-old Sills was not of sufficient quality to judge whether she was better at that age than Jackie Evancho. Not saying she wasn’t.
when music is terribly great, many humans do not need to understand a single word being sung to appreciate the performance - there is something about the vibrations in beautifully created melodic verse donw with perferct pitch, it simply “resonates” at a level from which most people “feel” it whether understanding it or not
Sublime. Unlike this gentleman’s smooth articulation, Placido Domingo’s Italian has just a hint of Mexico, or perhaps I imagine it. Also his French.
If there’s one tenor showpiece I can’t hear too many times ... this isn’t it. It’s “La Donna e Mobile.”
She is truly a once in an era phenomenon. There have been other young girl sopranos, but none with the depth of feeling and artistic expression of Jackie. I really believe she's in a class all her own.
That's a common reaction to Jackie's vocals and performance. Her voice is so magical, one could be forgiven for thinking she's been sent from heaven to heal the world.
So true. Music is a universal language.
Why is a soprano singing an aria written for tenor?
It makes no sense.
There are easily a dozen soprano arias a young soprano could tackle to showcase her talent.
Choosing this over hyped over played tenor aria just smacks of pop opera dumbed down to appeal to the masses.
