That is news for sure.
Not sure it’s that common yet though.......
Linkedin is like recommendation sources one puts on a resume’ or personal reference list - you almost never find anyone who will say anything bad....and that’s because no one gets linked in to you except those that you approve.......
It’s #1 weakpoint IMHO.
You are, of course correct, but there is one major difference. The reason the company requires the LinkedIn recommend instead of resume' is because they use it to thoroughly vet ME because of my page. Major difference. Very useful and easy for the client that is doing the vetting and the hiring.
I think LinkedIn is a great way to sniff through the BS of companies and their employees and typical "resume speak."
I think I'm in the minority on FR, but I see it as a very valuable tool. Lately the articles being referenced by "inlfuencers" means its becoming a bit of a daily spot for me to find interesting articles about my areas of business interest.
