This is the dramatic moment a mother-of-two opened fire with an assault rifle on intruders who tried to smash their way into her home.
The woman took action after three hooded individuals kicked down the door of her Detroit home on Monday night where she lives with her two young children.
She fired off rounds in a bid to deter the would-be burglars, later saying she 'didn't have time to get scared'. The unnamed mother told WXYZ Detroit: 'I let them know I had a gun once they were in the house and they challenged me and said "no you don't have a gun" so that's when I shot off the first round.
...
As the intruders fled the home while shots rang out, one dropped a handgun. He grabbed it and tried to get back into the house but was scared off by more shots.
All three suspects are seen running through thick snow from the house. No one was hurt in the incident.
Police arrested three teenage suspects a short time later.

“Police arrested three teenage suspects a short time later”.........as they were cleaning themselves from crapping their pants during their getaway.
“Police arrested three teenage suspects a short time later.......as they were caught cleaning themselves after craping their pants during their getaway.”
There, that sound more truthful.
No doubt.
“I know that the police have their own rules, but I wouldn’t handle a likely loaded, hot and still smoking firearm like this:”
What difference does it make?
‘Sides, who wants one of those things to reproduce, anyway?
Mayne he got handling tips from Fmr. ATF Agent Lee “this is a unloaded Glock” Paige.
There is an after market magazine which holds 15 rounds in the 9mm. Reports have been very spotty on performance. Hi-point says if you use these magazines they may damage your firearm and that will void the warrantee.
There is an attachment Hi-Point makes which fastens in the stock which holds 2 additional mags. I would go with that rather than the 15 cap mags.
She should have called 911 and waited for the police to arrive.
Pistol caliber carbine. Hi-Point if I'm not mistaken.
The 2000 is harder to get nowadays and is more expensive than the Hi-Point but either is a great pistol carbine and well worth the money if that is what you need.
Thanks for the info.
The Detroit Gun Works should send her some freebie parts to pretty up the gun and pay for her to go to Rick’s Firearm Academe in Detroit as a promotion.
Are we SURE they were not cops?
Thanks for the ping. I saw it on the local news tonight. GREAT NEWS! HOORAY to the mom and her husband.
Gun fired. Crime deterred.
Liberals saddened...
Sounds like a winner to me.
She should get a medal and then she needs to get out of Detroit
I saw the headline posted earlier but passed it over because it came from Great Britain.
I guess other Yoots can return knowing Officer Gutshot hauled away her only means of self-defense. She should demand it back immediately. The dropped pistol should be hers to, by right of conquest, if it’s not traceable to whomever it was stolen from.
Te firearm is a 9mm Highpoint carbine, a nice shooter out to 50 - 70 yards. It uses the same mags as the inexpensive Highpoint pistol so extras are easy to find.
