User’s can now select a “custom” gender option.
“There’s going to be a lot of people for whom this is going to mean nothing, but for the few it does impact, it means the world,” Facebook software engineer Brielle Harrison told the Associated Press. Harrison, who worked on the project, is in the process of gender transition, from male to female.
Facebook will also allow users to select between three pronouns: “him,” “her” or “their.”

The problem with DC is that 99% of them are on that list rather than good old fashioned “male” and “female”.
"CIS" (cissexual. Shrug) means the "biological sex" matches the "identified sex." IOW, if you are born a man and think of yourself as a man in every way, then you are said to be "CIS." This is revolting to me, because it means "Normal" is considered an applicable label. If you're a guy, you are a "cis-male," not simply "male."
The other labels in the list are just various forms of trans-gender. Imagine anything, it'll work. But putting "Cis" in front of your identity makes their adjustments look good. I have no clue about a lot of them, but I'll be danged if I Google them. "Neutrois?" That one scares me. The only reason I Googled "CIS" was because it was about a third to a half of the list.
No option for “Really, seriously, pretty awesome, unapologetically Heterosexual Male”?

The cis- prefix means “on this side”.
In gemetrical isomer nomenclature, the prefix cis- and trans- are used to identify which side of the double bond the similar atoms are found. The cis- prefix is from the Latin meaning “on this side”. In this case, the chlorine atoms are on the same side of the carbon-carbon double bond. This isomer is called cis-1,2-dichloroethene.

It would be interesting if they released statistics, say in a year, of how many people chose these various “genders.” What on earth is a “Cis”?
I assume it means “this side of (object),” like Cisalpine Gaul and Transalpine Gaul, but other than that ... [?].

I answer the question with “Normal”. It’s worth it to see the looks of outrage.
I note that two choices seem to be omitted from this list:
59. Male
60. Female
Does that mean that these are no longer acceptable choices?
