Yes, Austin has been overrun by them. There is even a place on Lake Travis called Hippie Hollow.

When the EPA makes Hippies a protected species because of their limited range, we will be in serious trouble in and around Austin. And they will continue expanding out to Spiceweird, er, maybe that is Spicewood, where the king of the hippies—Willie Nelson—lives.

When you’ve seen Austin, you’ve seen heaven.

The odds were obvious. The hippies look like the type that
most likely wouldn’t have a CC permit and packing heat. The
cowards knew the odds against it and took advantage. I
could have walked right by the punks and they wouldn’t
have said a word.
