These fools simply do not understand that the key to survival is raising the worker’s minimum value-in-use.
Walking Brain Donor alert!
What is never mentioned in this debate is that those who would benefit from a raise in the minimum wage have already willingly contracted with their employer for a wage that is obviously acceptable to them. It is not as if they’re held captive, they willingly show up to work, at a contracted wage they obviously deem beneficial to them.
Whether they’re happy or not is not the question to be asked.
Most of those who begin a job at the minimum end up raising the value of their labor through industry and acquired knowledge of the job, and receive raises accordingly.
One of the problems here is that there is such a large supply of unemployed young people that in some industries there’s no reason for an employer to pay more. A minimum wage increase does not fix this problem, it only exacerbates it.
And there are still a lot of folks...a few on here...who think O’Reilly is “conservative”...scary
Title VII of the ADEA and the ADA prohibit compensation discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability.
Turned off O Reilly many moons ago, then watched him last night. He goes on this kick with the min wage.
Had you heard him you would have thrown your shoe at the TV. He had Kristin Powers agreeing with him and did not interrupt her once, when the conservative woman offered a sensible response, he shouted her down constantly.
For example, she tried to calmly explain to him that Bill Gates of all people Is against the min wage. He began to shout her down so you couldnt hear her. She fought back and said Gates says accurately, raising the minimum wage forces companies to automate those entering jobs. Therefore people are put out of work.
Hey, Bill why not have Dr Sowell on there to explain to you, in clear terms why the min wage hurts workers.
O Reilly did the same thing a few years back saying we needed to support Ethanol subsidies.
Look for his interview with Obama to be a complete joke and a tenth of what some guy like Russert would do with Obama. I’m sure Obama has all the questions ahead of time, and O Reilly is told to be kind.
Bill, you have no shame.
Your only focus is increasing your viewership.
Your motivations are no different that the VOTE BUYING POLITICIANS.
Less than 20% of those on minimum wage are heads of households.
Increasing it DESTROYS JOBS.
More Marxism should work.
Pray America is Waking
Bill Ego-Rielly is an idiot who thinks he’s smarter than everyone. The gop should do what HE tells them to do. How smart is he? He says to give adults $10 an hour but leave teens at $7 an hour. I wonder how many adults would be hired at McDonald’s under that proposal. Man, is he stupid!
I have an idea for BOR’s next book: “Killing Common Sense!”
I watched Bill O’Reilly trying to bait his guest by spouting the usual MSNBC Socialist Logic.
Billy-O even did his trademark ‘shout down the guest whenever the show needs more Liberal viewers’ shuffle and jive routine.
Billy O’s rude treatment of guests has made his show the most popular TV show with Liberal views for over 10 years now.
It was such a convincing Liberal performance by Billy-O that he convinced me that there is truth to the rumor that Billy-O is leaving FOX to replace Mr. Ed, “The Shouting Socialist,” on MSNBC.
He and Chrissey Mathews could then nightly compete for the best Rude Irish Shout Downer.
Anybody on FR know of a single good reason to watch The Billy-O TV Show ever again?
I forget. Where did O’Really go to business school?
My remedy is to turn on Cavuto. He’s on FBN at the same time. Much better show. I wish the Factor would just “move along”....
His next achievement? A new book...."Killing America"....then, interviewing the new Pope.....and then on to the Nobel Peace Prize.

Is there ANYBODY out there that still believes Ted Baxter is not a Democrat?
Can someone explain to me how this fool’s ratings remain so high? I’m serious. Conservatives have abandoned his show, I would hope.
As far as the minimum wage goes, it's my understanding that many union contracts have wages that are tied to the minimum wage. If you double the minimum wage, you may just double many union wages, with no need to re-negotiate the contracts. The effect of this on our economy is probably much larger than many admit.
Republicans should make clear that they will all vote "present" to any bill introduced by a Democrat to TRIPLE the minimum wage. Let the Democrats live with the economic consequences or explain to their constituents why such a thing is bad for the economy. I'll bring the popcorn.
