I was very blessed by a wonderful freeper who helped me with a lotion applicator that I am able to use to apply the cream to my back. It worked very well, and then the doc discontinued the use on my back but told me to continue putting it on my hands. I still use it to put lotion and other creams to my back. I still use icyhot or bengay when I can get it. I’m out of all of that right now, but look forward to getting more when I can.
I am having a heck of a time with the itchies! (I’m sure it’s probably my medications). My back, face, hands...they all ITCH like crazy! I can’t reach the itch on my back with my hands so I have been known to grab a pair of scissors to scratch that part of my back. I gave myself a very long scratch on my shoulder and now have to be very careful when trying to scratch it. I have been putting some ointment on it to keep it from getting infected and the ointment has a pain reliever in it too. I’m using the applicator for that too.
Prayers continuing, t!
Last year, I was extremely ill in ICU for a long while prior to receiving the overwhelming gift of a kidney/liver transplant. I do know itching, and it will drive you nuts! I used to manage to scratch myself on my back in areas I could not logically even reach. I’m sure they didn’t let me have any sharp things anywhere within reach, and my family and the docs could not believe the scratches just from fingernails.
Glad you are using the applicator, sounds like a great help! I hadn’t read far enough into the thread to see if you got one or not.
Quick cure for itching:
Dissolve a level teaspoon of lye in a pint of water.
Use scraps of paper towel to wipe it on the itching area.
It will tingle for a minute, and then the itch will be gone for several hours.
