This post kind of blew my mind.
I am having a spinal stimulator implanted on January 27, 2014 in Erie, PA.
This procedure scares the hell out of me but I have been dealing with low back pain shooting done both legs to my toes since 2008 and have been taking vicodin (150 a month) and I really want off of these drugs.
I hope all works out for the both of us.
Keep me informed of your progress and I will let you know how well this works or doesn’t work.
Good luck trussell!
A friend of mine had that procedure done over a year ago and she is very happy with it. She gets around much better now.
What GOD does for one, He will do for another.
Father God,
We pray in the name of Jesus that Johnny Cash and Trussell are healed of their afflictions. It says in the Holy Scriptures that You healed all of their diseases. By Your stripes we are healed.
May Holy Spirit flow through them and breath new life into their bodies. Amen.
Are you having the trial or the permanent one implanted? If the permanent, how did the trial work for you? It’s interesting that we are both having it done on the same day. Mine is being done in Savannah GA.
I was on Vicodin for a couple years then I had the surgery and went to oxycodone (percocet). The surgeon decided to cut me off, saying there was no reason for me to have the pain I was claiming...I said “refer me to a pain management doctor, today please!” Saw the pain doc and he immediately put me back on oxycodone and revoked my permission to look for work.
I was told “you will never be free from pain, but we hope to manage it enough that you have quality of life”. If this doesn’t work, the next option is the ITP (an internal pain pump, implanted in the abdomen with a line going to the spinal column). I’m ready for relief...I want to try to walk again. I will keep you in my prayers. Hope it works for you (and me). God Bless!
I have a cousin who has a stimulator. He said the surgery was no big deal and it works!
Prayers for you both.
I had a double laminectomy last July for the shooting pain in my legs. It worked beautifully. I haven’t had a pain since. Is that a possibility for you?
Prayers for you, too, Johnny! My brother had one of these done a number of years ago and the improvement was tremendous. He was on Oxy and got strung out on it. He’s weaned off but it took some time. Take it easy during recovery, even if you feel great. Prayers for a complete healing and strength. I also believe they have refined and improved these stimulators over the last few years. I will be wishing both of you well.
Prayers up for you and your surgery.
Good luck to you, too. Prayers up!
