I have only laughed at one bit Will Farrel did and that was on SNL Celebrity Jeopardy. However the contestants carried the bit. Other than that I am not a fan.
His Harry Carey bits were hilarious! Other than that, most of his movies are slapstick and often miss the mark.
Oh yeah - his celebrity jeopardy skits were hilarious. But they were written for him, and he was the straight man.
And the biggest jokes in those skits were all based on this out of the blue hostility that Sean Connery has for Alex Trebek. “That’s not what your mother said last night, Trebek.” Rofl.
Very funny in small portions. Some of his movies grate on you after a while, but watching a random scene can be hilarious. This is how I feel about anchorman so why pay $8 - $10 bucks in the theater .
Some of his supporting roles have been priceless such as "The Producers".
Exception to seeing an entire Farrell movie..
Kicking and Screaming
The Other Guys
The Step Brothers
Will Farrel. Picking up the torch/baton passed from Adam Sandler who got it from Mike Meyers who got it from Eddie Murphy who got it from Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd.
They are SNL alumni who made the break to the big screen. They have some success at it here and there but the sheer quantity of the work is going to include a lot of mediocre crap.
Then there are those like Rob Schneider, Chris Farley, and David Spade, Al Franken, et al who never even had one brilliant film.
And so's your mother!
