Yellowhammer has learned that the female Alabama fan who flew through the air to attack an Oklahoma Sooner fan during Thursdays Sugar Bowl is Michelle Pritchett, a local photographer from Sweet Water, Ala.
Yellowhammer spoke with Mrs. Pritchett on the phone this afternoon in an exclusive interview, becoming the first outlet to get her side of the story.
Everyones making me look like such a bad guy, Pritchett said. What I did was probably not the thing to do. But they were taunting us. They began by going after me. But then they crossed the line and started taunting my 16-year-old son.
At that point, Pritchett says she walked over to the Oklahoma fans to ask them to leave her son out of it.
It started off being friendly, just us going back and forth about the game, Pritchett recalled. But what ended up happening had nothing to do with the game. It escalated. When they said something to my son, I told them to shut their mouths. They were telling my son to come down there and do something about it. I said, no, thats not going to happen. This crap needs to stop. As Pritchetts husband pulled her back the first time she approached the Sooner fans, Pritchett says one of the Sooners called her a stupid b**** and thats when she ran across the aisle and dove on top of them.
The security people had already gotten on to those guys for throwing bottles at people, Pritchett said. When they escorted me out, the security guard told them there was no reason to be pressing charges on me because those guys were out of control the whole game. I defended my son. If they had kicked those boys out to begin with, it wouldnt have happened the way it did.
Pritchett said she regrets that things escalated the way they did and said she wanted to apologize to Bama nation. Her biggest concern seemed to be what Coach Sabans reaction would be when reporters question him about it.
Im embarrassed. I love The Tide and I apologize to all the players and to Coach Saban and to the entire fan base. Im sorry. Coach Sabans going to say those crazy fans dont know how to act. And I wasnt intoxicated either. I want people to know that. Id had a couple of drinks, but I was not intoxicated.
But Pritchett says shed do it all again if she had to.
I hate to say it, but Id do it again if I had to. Im not going to let anyone go after my son.
It seems the worst-behaved fans are always the ones who have never attended the schools for whose teams they root.
Dad wasn’t trying too hard to stop her. She probably kicks his butt as well.
Agree, Not Guilty!
Id say she was loaded. ive seen way too many drunks start stuff to mistake that for a sober action.
Need an animated GIF of that stage dive.
Oh yeah, she wasn’t drunk. /sarc
ZINGGGGGGG. Best ever. And it will leave a mark.
Mrs. Mom should have put her drink down and reported her harrassment issue, IF, it was even real. Seriously doubt her bottle throwing story altogether. That would not go unreported.
Besides, BOOMER SOONER! :)
Defense? Hell no! Did you see her kicking that guy? She needs to be on the Tide’s kicking squad!

“They were taunting us.” At a football game? The horror!
Clearly very intoxicated...but also looks to be not guilty.
This is precisely why I don’t go to College football games.
Just treats AL football like the NFL and never went to the Uni.
So if you did not go to Alabama you can not be a fan of the team?
Not only did I not go I do not live in Alabama and here I thought I was afn of the team. .....
I went to Bama, and I cannot explain the psychosis. The nuttiness starts early on. Everybody follows these players from the time they start playing at 4 or 5 years of age. It is . . . fascinating and disturbing.
She was with her husband
They do need a field goal kicker... I guess you’re right!
So.
