I plant leaf lettuce every few weeks, so we always have fresh lettuce for burgers and salads. I buy $.75 pack at a nursery, give away about half the seeds and still have enough for the next year.
Those lettuce seed packets all have way more than we can use. I have plenty leftover to use this year.
I usually plant a bunch over several weeks in the fall outside, and cover it up for the winter, and on warmer sunshiny days uncover it, harvest a batch and let it soak up the sun before covering it up again. That usually lasts until around May or June before I have to plant additional seeds.
In addition, I have the indoor supply to use for lettuce on sandwiches.
I just didn’t quite get around to doing all the stuff on the same scale as usual this year.
