I talk and talk to those squirrels about burying their pecans in my nice soft garden but they never listen. Boy, do those things have long tap roots. What’s worse is the dogs love to bring them in and leave the sharp chewed shells for bare feet to find.

Yes, my southeast Texas weather gets warm really fast and by the middle of March the warm starts. From March we get into the 90s by the middle of June. I am positive about that, because our Republican Convention is always in June and the heat at convention just killed me every time. Only newbies to convention wear dress clothes. By July we are 100 and above up to 107. That's when I'd prefer Alaska - July, August.
You don't know what bad is. My son went to London after college and there he still is well after 20 years. I have had to drag his stuff around every time I had to move. They are things he had in high school and college and still wants them. One of those things is a heavy, huge, like 20 inch telescope about five feet long with a heavy metal stand with rotation equipment on it and just that weighs many pounds. I always hit my legs with that thing every time I had to move it. My townhouse has “his” room with all his stuff in there except that telescope and that is in a downstairs closet under the stairs. In his room, is still his chemistry lab coat from Rice University and his tennis jacket and numerous other things in that bedroom closet.
Oh, yes, there is a stuffed bear toy in there he had as a small child and that got moved, too, as he wouldn't give it up. I hope you don't have to wait over twenty years for your kids to take their things.
That's why I thought Johnny misspoke about mesquite trees here. You won't find any here unless it's a scrubby small bush in the woods. You have to go farther west to find a mesquite “tree”. I'd never seen a “tree” of mesquite until I saw some west of Austin. Now, pine trees, man have we got those. In March, everything here is covered with yellow pine pollen. I have to turn on the windshield washer to be able to see out the car window when I get in the car. I try to stay in the house during this yellow dump of pollen as I'm allergic to every tree pollen.

Well, that was my neighbor. Not me. I followed the example of my parents. Get all your stuff now or it will be gone.
What my kids didn’t get within a reasonable time after having their own residences, I just packed up and dropped off, or pitched.
They moved back in for a time, but all that stuff is gone now too. I turned one of the bedrooms into a guest room. Inspired by Trading spaces, I moved everything out of it, and gave it a total redo. The closet has a few items of medical equipment such as a walker, and bed side commode at present. When Dad lived with me, it was his TV and computer room all of his stuff has been cleared out and it’s once more a guest room.
The other bedroom was his bedroom. I have gone in there dozens of times to clear it out. That only lasts about 10 minutes, so I haven’t acheived much on that job yet. I did give most of his deer head trophies and stuffed turkeys to my daughter that wanted them. She has them displayed mostly in her basement room.
Some day it will be finished, 10 minutes at a time eventually works, it’s just slow.

It’s all in my small garden area so it’s not like going to the north 40 to cover the plants. It starts about 6 steps out my back door and I’ve got enough row cover to cover all of the plants. We will not have a freeze after the middle of March, but if the liberals cause a freeze to happen, I can deal with it.

That reminds me of the two big potatoes in my pantry that has those sprouts coming out at various places. Can you tell me when to cut them out with a sizeable amount of potato with them and plant them?
That’s the way I feel about all my edible plants. I’d just don’t need anymore exposure to pesticides etc. It’s one of the main reasons that I started growing my own food.
No worries about what pesticide residue or E Coli might happen to be hanging around my food.LOL
