Yep, there are times I am sick to death of hearing “but they are such good people”.
Problem is all that “goodness” is not from the heart but them working for their own salvation.
My first real exposure to momonISm was 1962, the more I learned the more mortified I became.
Because my mormon family thinks me to be “one of those primitives”, they have no fear in telling me everything.
I guess they think I am to stupid to understand anyway.
Three years a ago after my cousin gave birth to her umtiump child, she became very depressed.
Her husband didn’t understand or was embarrassed by her behavior. He berated her, took her their bishop who berated her (thinking himself a counselor I guess).
This continued to escalate, she lost friends, her temple job
because just couldn’t function. (Yea, she also worked full time, but kept that perfection going, go to keep up the ‘goodness’)
Finally, both her husband and bishop said she was unworthy of being “called” two days later she took her own life.
Her parents, her siblings still dutifully go to ward and do their work....mustn’t give the impression to the outside word things are wrong.

Sorry, this is long, I just wanted you to know I completely understand the blasphemy and sham appearance of what is called mormonISM.

Before anyone says I should have helped, I would have had I known, you see because I would not cover to mormonISM she wouldn’d see me. See how ‘good’ that is.

I’m so sorry about your cousin ..

nobody should have to endure such evil from the religious leaders they trust..

Mormonism is a sham ..

It is the love of God that empowers us to live in this world..

when we know that God loves us individually we can overcome..

I continually asked Mormons for years if God loved them..

I got no answer from Resty or Sandy or others..

the love of God appears to be alien to Mormons because they don’t think they measure up they don’t think they are worthy of being loved by God..

and yet God Himself tells us that He loved us enough to leave Heaven and die an ignoble death for us on the Cross in our place to redeem us from the death penalty for our sins...

Now everyone knows and wants to quote this next Bible scripture..

For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.. John 3:16

But what about the followon verse ???

FOR GOD SENT NOT HIS SON INTO THE WORLD TO CONDEMN THE WORLD BUT THAT THE WORLD THROUGH HIM MIGHT BE SAVED John 3:17

Mormonism is hateful and condemns

Christianity is of God and the love of God..

Whats that “greatest of these” its CHARITY 1 Corinthians 13:13

the word charity is a bit different than love in that it is an old words not used much these days except in the realm of giving to the needy etc..

However the way charity is used in the Bible involves more than that..

Charity in Shakespearian times meant forgiving, compassion etc..

That’s why Paul said charity was the greatest amongst faith, hope, charity..

While charity does mean love and giving the greatest thing God did for us was FORGIVE..

that’s what the love of God means..

Paul tells us that charity is more than just giving.. In 1 Corinthians 13:3 that we can give the hunger and the poor everything we own and it still may not be charity...

the charity kind of love is not squishy and fluffy and its not arguing its OK to be a homosexual or a Mormon ..

Its knowing that there is forgiveness when we repent and turn from our sin..

your cousins husband and those Mormon leaders did not even act like your cousin was entitled to forgiveness if they thought she was caught up in some sin.. they condemned her and judged her and told her she was unworthy ..

and yet the LORD Jesus Christ made her worthy TWO THOUSAND YEARS AGO when He left Heaven came down to be born as a human baby, grew up and died on the Cross and rose again the 3rd day..

He paid then for any sin your cousin may have committed real or imagined..

But the unbelieving Mormons did not have charity towards her because they could not understand that God loved her and died for her as they don’t know that for themselves and so now her blood is on their hands..

The love of God the charity and forgiveness is so much my life ...it keeps me going ..it helps me be an overcomer..it helps me have compassion and charity to others..

we can love others in the Godly manner..charity..because He first loved us ..1 John 4:19

But we have to KNOW for ourselves that He first loved us.. if we don’t we fail at charity..you cant pass on what you don’t have..

some people in this forum can go days without contact with God..I cant..

I need Him every hour..

I hunger for His Word and I enjoy

I need His reassurance that He loves me and that Im special to Him..
