Do you know what those lighter-colored, octagon shaped plates are on the front ship?

There also appears to be one on the front of the ship to the right. Now I'm curious about them, too.

I’ll take a wild guess and say that they are covers and a really big gun is behind them?

Well, I tried to search on Google and I found my post. :)

Hopefully a Navy person will show up. It’s going to bother me now if I can’t find out.
