Full Title: EXCLUSIVE - 'Hung out to dry': Duck Dynasty star and family hit out at A&E for letting his controversial interview go public and for suspending him for homophobic comments

Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson and his family believe they have been ‘hung out to dry’ by TV network A&E after he was suspended for homophobic comments made in a magazine interview, MailOnline can reveal.

Sources within the close-knit Louisiana clan say they are convinced A&E are manipulating the controversial situation to bring them – and particularly Robertson – back into line after Television executives grew tired of the family pushing their deeply-held, Christian beliefs.

They also think the network could have done something to stop the controversial GQ article being made public, because an A&E representative was present during the interview with patriarch, Roberston, 67.

You are spot on...members of the military sacrifice their LIVES for our country...but we can’t ‘sacrifice’ our cable. Sad.

There are two interdependent Liberal agenda matters at play here. First was the association of Duck Dynasty with Christianity and second, the association of so-called homophobic speech with Christianity. A&E’s staff intentionally led this guy into this mouse trap, fell for it and what’s going to be really interesting is to see what the Liberal/GAY/LBGT lobby and their handmaiden Mainstream Media Outlets do in furtherance of their agenda.

My guess is that they’ll now make a major push to criminalize criticism of the Gay lifestyle as hate speech and that effort will result in the public expression of Christian views, opinions or dogma outlawed as hate speech.

I haven’t had TV for 5 years. I NEED food, shelter and clothing but I don’t need to be insulted and lied to.

The CEO of A&E is negligent. It is the legal and contractual obligation of the CEO of a publicly held company to maximize shareholder value. Failing to do so is a breach of responsibility and opens the company to shareholder lawsuits. The only obligations the CEO has to employees is providing safe working conditions, ensuring they adhere to the law in the conduct of their jobs, and paying the employees for the work they perform. There is no obligation to pander to the beliefs of employees.

In this case the CEO has deliberately taken action putting the number 1 profit contributing enterprise of the company in jeopardy, thereby potentially costing the shareholders millions of dollars of income. If the show is cancelled, and cannot be replaced with another show with the same income producing potential, the financial health of the company will be harmed indefinitely.

Given the above, in a true free market economy the board of directors would be meeting today to fire the CEO and beg Phil to come back to work. The fact there is no discussion of the CEO being terminated for gross negligence demonstrates the degree to which our free market economy has been totally corrupted by agenda driven progressive politics.

See that’s the guy who REALLY got fired. Phil is suspended, if he keeps his mouth shut and doesn’t grow the controversy in a couple of months he’ll be unsuspended and life will go on as if nothing happened. The handler from A&E whose job is to make sure all press is good press, he screwed up bad, he probably got fired the minute the network got a courtesy copy of the interview because his job is to say “that’s a hot button issue, we’re not talking about things that will anger a bunch of people regardless of his answer”.

As for me I’ve never owned a TV and don’t watch it. I didn’t even know about this family or show until the controversy erupted.

What which ‘so called values’ are you in disagreement with?

“I’m not about to cancel cable when I can easily delete A&E from the list of selections.”

You can choose not to watch A&E but the only way you can choose not to pay for the network is canceling your cable subscription. Due to the bundling of services, some portion of your bill goes to pay for every network carried by the cable operator.

Think of Americans who do like being insulted and lied to as having Stockholm Syndrome.

If very few people watch, their advertising revenue falls. Falling revenue means something to television executives. Beyond that, I have no other means to show my displeasure.

MOST of their revenue comes from cable fees, not advertising revenue. How you choose to express your displeasure is up to you, of course...but don't think 'blocking' them has any effect on them, because it doesn't.

Please defend your decision to use the internet service brought forth by the liberal cable and satellite companies you despise.

Or are you posting via telekinesis?

A&E sent a publicist with Phil to the interview. Then two of them went off road riding, Phil & the GQ guy. The publicist did not go.

That is when the comments were made.

It’s going to come down to if there clauses in the contract to protect either side.

Why stop at A&E??

80% of A&E is owned by ABC/Disney.

I cut the cord yesterday, and made it very clear with my provider why I was doing so. My provider gave me a few alternatives, but as ABC Television owns/runs a number of other networks it became virtually impossible for me to select any other tier of programming that did not include an ABC Television supported network.

So for now it’s rabbit ears and streaming service... we’ll see how it goes. Sure ABC gets a cut of Hulu, but it’s far less money than I was giving them monthly for my ESPN channels.

The parts of the interview that are most offensive to homosexuals are almost word for word quotes from the bible. The rest is mostly just personal observation and common sense. Mr. Robertson is just the messenger. The real battle is with what is written in the bible.
