Yeah, every junkie has a story. Whatever.
He didn’t make the comment on Duck Dynasty.
Who is Will Payne?
The author of the piece who wasn’t given credit.
Thanks for the info. I did not know.
From rationalizing and denial to deflection. All typical behaviors of an addict.
It didn’t have to be ON Duck Dynasty. After Charlie Sheen & his antics over the years, I’m sure most Hollywood contracts now contain some kind of clause about bringing bad publicity to the sponsor, allowing them to respond with suspensions or terminations.
You feel like calling Freepers names on threads related to this trying to start a flame war like the average run of the mill Internet Troll. The ones you bash accomplish a lot more than you because they fight this effectively through other means using their status as customers.
I'd say you likely use your parents Internet service or your employer provided computer, and watch their TV so technically it's not yours and you don't pay for the service.
The calls, the letters, the emails, sent in the past few days by fans and non fans but ones who agree with Phil Robertson have done far more toward addressing the issues than you. Companies will listen more closely to paying consumers.
The most effective means is what is being done which is contact sponsors which is where the real money is at. The satellite and cable fees can not keep any network on the air unless they are ones like HMO etc which operate solely on subscription for production. It takes corporate sponsors.
Right now several other much more family friendly networks are interested in Duck Dynasty. That is very good it puts A&E on notice as well as corps and other networks. Phil Robertson whether you like TV or not in one interview has done far more for addressing this than your Troll postings. How many letters, calls, or emials did you send? What did you say I don't watch TV nor have TV service but.... LOL.. Troll.
BTW The best way to keep up with things politically as in hearing what an elected offical says, their positions, debates, etc is TV. My best guess is the owner of this forum has a subscription TV service as well. Care to ping him and express your contempt for TV watchers on this thread and others? I dare you to do it. Come on big man show the forum and owner just how you feel. LOL

Sport, youre not in the mood to break your entertainment addiction. My ISP isnt giving CNN, msnbc, a&e or any of the networks any of my money every month. Tell you what... Keep paying that tee vee bill every month. Keep funding your own demise. Fools like you make your own gravy...just add water. Just quit your goddamned pissing and moaning about them using that money you give them to treat you and yours like a bitch because you deserve every cent of it.

And a hypocrite defends his obsession with pop entertainment over his so called values.

This is really where the rubber meets the road and why what passes for conservatives these days are mocked and scoffed at...and rightfully so. If people want to willingly pay money to those that deride their God, their faith and what they claim are their values each and every month, then they deserve all the persecution they get. 24/7 Sports and entertainment are waaaay more important.

Quick show of hands of people who have cancelled their cable or satellite teevee service because of this thing everyone is pretending to be outraged about...? No one...? Yeah, thats what I thought. But hey, keep being the abused, mousy housewives and keep handing them your money every month. Fake reality teevee and wall to wall football and golf are way more important than the silly principles people pretend to care about.

Attention all you 12 million viewers pretending to be outraged by this. Cancel your cable or satellite service or pour a big cup of "shut the f*** up!" You are willingly paying for your own demonization. It looks like the dynasty people are ready to tell the pay tv industry to take their business model and go screw. How about putting all of your money where your mouths are? Or is all that fake reality teevee and one hour shows reminding you that the US won WW2 more important to you than your willing, intentional payments to people who hate you?
The lengths you are going to in rationalizing your addiction is saying more about you than it is about me. You desperately need this to be about me, or an ISP or anything other than you. Now run along and try to do something productive before posting another screed in a sad attempt to deflect attention away from you.
Bye Troll.
Don’t let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.
I understand your point about crudeness.
I'm not a fan of Duck Dynasty for reasons similar to yours, as well as others. Also, while I've got no problem with hunting, it's not my thing. There's nothing wrong with the premise of the show, I'm just not their intended audience.
But that's not the point. The Duck Dynasty family is not being attacked because of crudeness, or because they are, using their own words, “white trash.”
They are being attacked because the head of the family cited Scripture and took a biblical stand against homosexuality.
If Robertson were a hard-drinking, hard-living, and hard-talking Marine or coal miner or truck driver or whatever other stereotype you want to cite of a secular conservative who made no claims to godliness but who got in trouble because of criticizing homosexuality, he would still be worthy of support. And that would be true even if his language were laced with much worse stuff than anything Robertson says.
The leftists are apparently willing to destroy a major cash cow for the A&E Network because open criticism of homosexuality cannot, in their view, be allowed on network television. As a private company, the A&E Network has every right under the First Amendment to decide whether or not to broadcast Duck Dynasty, and we have every right to act accordingly, i.e., telling A&E Network what we think of their decisions.
That — a zero-tolerance policy for criticism of homosexuality — is the issue, not whether or not the Duck Dynasty patriarch has a pottymouth.
Also, as GeorgiaDawg32 pointed out, the reporter's idea of a “huge gated compound” may have something to do with the fact that he writes for the British newspaper, the Daily Mail. I'm not sure how many “gated compounds” exist in Monroe, Louisiana, but I'd be inclined to think he's referring to something we would consider to be a ranch with a big fence and a gate. In choosing his words, the reporter may have used words which have a different nuance of meaning on his side of the Atlantic than ours.
That’s a great idea! Spread the word. The duck hall will be like the Katniss salute in The Hunger Games.
