SR-71 don’t need no stinkin’ windshield wipers. The rain can’t catch it. That raindrop thinks about hittin’ the SR-71 and whoosh, she’s gone. SR-71 be sayin’, “You go try to drop your behind on that Cessna down there.”

That was an uptown fix. We just used vicegrips.

Alex,
Things are tough here for so many people know who can’t find work.

It sounds as if you are starting over in a peaceful place, with fewer stresses.

I’ve heard a number of expat stories from Cebu like yours. All positive.

Thank you for sharing your story!

"How about using the same system for an umbrella?"

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

Yes, maybe they could make a portable one and attach it to your head, like one one of those umbrella hats.

That would serve to repel the rain, and also keep bugs (like mosquitos) off of you.

(Remember Jay Johnstone?)

Yes, the Philippines is loaded with so many expats.
My Landlady’s husband is a 20+ year expat from PA.
Our newest neighbor is from Cape Cod.
We gather at 4 PM each afternoon in our shady garden, just above the sea and have a few San Miguels (beer).
I have helped several others to move to my town. Some from the US and some from Europe.

There is, however, a FR “dog in a manger” group of 4 or 5 that hate my guts, as I am not their to share their pain.
America was founded by expats, so I see no shame in being one.

He was probably used to using vicegrips like the rest of us inside the box thinkers.

My ‘68 Barracuda had that and a foot pump for the wipers... You could also push really hard and mist the windshield of tailgaters.

Also great fun spraying folks walking behind the car at a drive-in!

Rain would evaporate if it hit the skin of the SR-71 when its flying at its highest speed. The exterior was said to get as hot as a Kitchen oven when flying at high Mach numbers.

Besides that their is usually no bad weather where the SR-71 fly’s.Usually above 80,000 feet above ground leval.

Now, without ash trays everyone just flicks their cigs out the window

I see that all the time from new cars. I had no idea they didn't get ashtrays.
