Parents of 6-year-old Amazing Johnson, were angered when they learned that school officials did not call 911 when their daughters fingertip was severed. Are we really supposed to just ignore the name?
You can’t even focus on the story because of the child’s name.
Normally I would do a “google image” search for Amazing Johnson.
But not this time.
I always thought Amazing was a boy’s name.
Simply ridiculous.
Shouldn’t Amazing Johnson be a boy’s name?
How could the parents name their daughter this ?
Amish.
Nah, that's Magic.

I was thinking about bizarre black names. At the gym I’ve met several younger black men called names like: “Phil,” “Travis,” and “Brooks.” I was wondering if the trend for obviously made-up black-only names has abated. I’ve read that a name like Laquisha receives many fewer resume responses than the same resume submitted with a traditional name. Have blacks caught onto this?

Glad she's going to be all right. The mom's comment is priceless:
"How is this not an emergency and her finger is in a bag. She didnt think it was an emergency. So I'm thinking, maybe a child has to be dead and that's the only way to call 911.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that the name “Hugh” just sounded way too white.
Not so amazing after all.
Hell, I’m Totally Average, and I managed to keep all 10 fingers my whole childhood.
Why didn’t they call?
One word: Paperwork.
I lost the tip of my nose when I pressed it against a frozen window pane.I was always a bit below average.
Was her finger severed, or was a chunk of skin at the tip cut off?
